Re: Scoop! 2020 Royal Enfield Himalayan spied

People,

I need your advice.

After reading so many threads on the HIMALAYAN usability and issues. My heart still says YES for a New Himalayan. I had multiple test drives and It is very comfortable for my city usage too. My wife can also get in easily without trouble and can seat comfortably. My usage is very minimal like (500 Kms Monthly) and yearly once Highway trip.

I'm in the verge of booking one. But this BS6 variant and 19-inch wheels proto stops me from getting one.

Though I'm not at all an adventure tourer, I'm way ok with 19-inch wheels for City usage. We also had a test drive with XPulse 200 and the seat is very narrow which might not be comfortable for a longer run.

Shall i take one now or wait for some months for the BS6 review and then book ?

How many bikes with a 21 inch wheel have you ridden and what is your accumulated mileage on those?

And, why is a 19 inch wheel a deal breaker?

Re: Scoop! 2020 Royal Enfield Himalayan spied

The post before yours has almost confirmed the changes for the 2020 Himalayan. It looks to be pretty much the same package with a couple of quality of life additions, some nice colour schemes, and a probable slight increase in weight as well as price.

Even if you don't see value in the update, I'd say just wait a couple of weeks anyway for official word on the full list of changes and then decide whether you want this or will settle for the 2019 model.

Yep and these guys https://gaadiwaadi.com/bs6-re-himala...next-week/amp/ are claiming that the front wheel size has been reduced and the tyres are now MRF.

As per Indiatoday, apart from the updated BS6 engine, RE Himalayan is expected to get some more goodies for the Himalayan fans.

Additional changes:
  • Switchable ABS system
  • New colors
  • Revamped Instrument cluster

With these new additions, the prices are also expected to go up.

You may read more about the updates here: https://www.indiatoday.in/auto/bikes...362-2020-01-16

Re: Scoop! 2020 Royal Enfield Himalayan spied

Newer RE's have a lot of things going for it, but one of the issues I always have is their paint quality. Even after paying about 2L the bike doesn't look premium at all (with very few exceptions).

Re: Scoop! 2020 Royal Enfield Himalayan spied

Himalayan Bs6 2020 launch @ mpire Royal Enfield, Kazhakootam ( they recently took over from Concept).

On road Trivandrum

Gravel Grey and Rock Red - Rs. 2,32,000/-

Lake blue - 2,30,000/-

Granite black & Snow white Rs. 2,27,000/-

Sleet Rs. 2,37,000/-

Front Tyre size as informed earlier - 21"
Console light changed to white from amber.
Side panels now have Himalayan sticker instead of imposed like earlier.
Gravel Grey tank sticker might not excite all.
Rock Red seems a bit too glossy.

Re: Scoop! 2020 Royal Enfield Himalayan spied

Tyres still look like GrippXL too. I really like the red and blue colour schemes though the gloss seems a bit out of character for the bike.

Can anyone identify the Wheel Hub ? Looks to be from GT535, but it has 18" rim i guess.
Could this hub be mated to bullet 19" rim with same 18" wheel spokes ?
Any pointers are much appreciated, TIA
