Benelli BN125 (Duke 125 rival) spotted in India

Quote:
The Benelli BN125’s pictures were uploaded by Kaulson Racing, one of the pioneers for importing, selling and servicing Superbikes in India. We don’t know if this is an official import on behalf of the company but the images do keep our hopes high for a possible launch in 2020. The Benelli BN125 should go head to head with the KTM Duke 125.

In terms of specs, the BN125 gets an air-cooled 125cc engine that is good for 11.1 Bhp of power and 10 Nm of torque. While these figures aren’t a match for the Duke 125, the BN125 does look good for the engine capacity. Kerb weight stands at over 142kg which is on the higher side for a 125cc bike.

Don't know why benelli bothers with these low cc bikes. Their bikes are overall very heavy compared to the competition so they need to play in the higher cc space only. This 125cc will be beaten by even a 125cc pulsar forget about a duke 125.

In the higher cc segment their weight disadvantage is offer by the higher cc engines to some extent which is where their focus should lie.

Let me cut to the chase. Whatever Benelli does or will do isn't going to yield them the marketshare nor the sales they are expecting. Benelli seems good on paper and rides well, but truly the quality isn't there, the service is just about okay, parts TAT for ones not available are horrendous for the most part, I mean, all in all, the wise guy, would clearly stay away from Benelli, and the better one don't recommend one.

And personally, right since Benelli's inception in India, I feel, something is amiss with Benelli which I just can't express personally. They seem to have the oomph, the bedazzle and sort, but there is just that 'feel factor' that is missing big time with Benelli.

I hope they better leave India for good and concentrate on the BRC countries where they at least have a following of some sort.

Cheers!

I know what is "missing": its BRAND APPEAL

Numbers tell a totally different story though!

Last year was their best in India. The newly launched Imperiale 400 seems to have been well received, with a claimed 4500 bookings.

The other bikes may only be launched to fill the portfolio and bring in desirability - like the Leoncino twins.

Just one Problem with the Numbers: "Where is the Proof?"

Payeng, thank you. Brand appeal..hmm.. I don't think brand appeal to me is a big deal or a deal breaker in this, since most of the buyers of Benelli don't care about it, or if they want to call them "unique". But honestly speaking, it just doesn't scream "long term" at least to me. I think I'll stop it at that before the rudder gets jammed.

Cheers!
