2020 KTM Duke 200 BS6 gets all new design – Launch soon

Quote:
KTM has opted to give the Duke 200 a few unique touches rather than simply upgrading the design to match the 250 and 390 variants. While it definitely has the family looks, the Duke 200 sports a new triangular headlamp with sharper features. The unit looks much simpler and cost-effective than the full LED unit employed by the 390. The fuel-tank appears to have been borrowed from the bigger sibling, complete with the sharp extensions.

The 2020 KTM Duke 200 also receives an all-new rear sub-frame (slightly different from that of Duke 390) with orange coloured members, larger split seats and new LED taillight. The motorcycle continues to employ the old digital instrument cluster, handlebar and switch gear. To put it in a nut-shell, KTM has come up with a significant cosmetic revision without stepping too much out of the strict cost structure. The new colour theme goes well with the design.

As far as we can see, the cycle parts continue to be the same and that is not a bad thing at all. The new KTM Duke 200 retains the 17-inch alloy wheels, 300 mm front disc, 230 mm rear disc, WP inverted telescopic front fork and rear monoshock. The motorcycle is likely to continue with a single-channel ABS to keep the costs at bay.

The 2020 KTM Duke 200 BS6 is estimated to retail at around INR 1.6 lakh (ex-showroom). We expect the smaller Duke 125 sibling also to receive a similar design update in due course.

It seems as though KTM isn't leaving no stone unturned. Constant upgradation, and always keep things on the boil. Competitors are no where close to what BAJAJ-KTM has done. And now with Triumph, the decimation could go on for years.

Cheers!

Completely agree + there's almost no competitor for KTM (and Bajaj) in this segment, be it affordability, VFM, maintenance, variety of models. The next closest competitor I can think off is only Yamaha, not even Honda or Kawasaki despite Kawasaki has almost all of their SBK & chotu SBK models for sale in here.

Walkaround video

No changes per say feature-wise. However looks similar to the 390s from sides.

Good to see the 200 getting a comprehensive update after it's launch in 2012. My only gripe is that they decided to continue with a halogen head lamp instead of LEDs. I don't think it's a justifiable omission considering the fact that even 100cc scooters are being launched/updated with the same.

Any word on slipper clutch? Or does the 200 already offer one?
