2020 Bajaj Pulsar 220-Fi BS6 spotted

So it's finally here guys. Another round of P220 Fi. No dual channel ABS sadly. Even Bajaj knows how useless their rear discs are.

Quote:
As we reported earlier, Bajaj is all set to launch the BS6-compliant models of the Pulsar series in the Indian market in the coming weeks. Ahead of the launch, the BS6 Bajaj Pulsar 220F has been spotted testing for the first time. Bajaj Auto has equipped the 220cc motorcycle with fuel injection to meet the upcoming BS6 emission norms that will be implemented in the country on April 1, 2020.

In terms of design, there are no changes as the BS6 model looks exactly similar to the current-gen BS4 model of the Pulsar 220F. The bike features the same semi-faired design with projector headlights, a split-seat setup and a tall front visor. As of now, we don’t have the details regarding the power and torque values of the updated 220cc fuel-injected BS6 model though we can expect the motorcycle to get a slight drop in the values like most of the recently launched BS6 bikes.

For reference, the BS4-compliant model of the Bajaj Pulsar 220F is powered by a 220cc, single-cylinder carburetted, oil-cooled engine that generates a maximum power of 20.93HP @ 8500 rpm and a peak torque of 18.55Nm @ 7000 rpm. The engine comes mated to a 5-speed gearbox. The approximate top speed of the motorcycle stands at 134kmph while the acceleration time may vary highly with the wind direction and the weight of the rider.

The suspension duties of the BS6 Bajaj Pulsar 220F will continue to be handled by telescopic forks with anti-friction bush at the front and 5-way adjustable Nitrox shock absorbers at the rear. For braking performance, the bike will remain equipped with a 260mm single disc at the front and a 230mm single disc at the rear, which will be further mated to a single-channel ABS unit as standard.

The lean angle sensor a.k.a a main stand that scrapes when you twitch still remains the same.

Guess some things never change.

They are just basically going back to first gen with a catcon and some changes.

I guess if there's one motorcycle that hasn't morphed and got along beautifully with the changing generation, it's gotta be the P220. It still has the oomph, the the torque and gives a good run for their money for all their newer similar CC siblings. A factory fitted 130 section, dual channel ABS and a few ponies more and this thing would be a game turner again.

Cheers!

Re: 2020 Bajaj Pulsar 220-Fi BS6 spotted

Oh this is great news & I can’t be more happier because I still own a 220 FI stock at 63000 kms on odo. I was discussing with my friends today on replacing the clogged fuel filter. If this is something that’s directly switchable, I’ll replace the FI unit to remain current and restore the trust of taking my bike on long rides without having to worry on spares issues which I’ve been facing for over 7 years now!

Prodigal (FI) son returns my mark 42 from ironman 3

Adding my bike for a recall of FI days being resurrected!

Personally I thought I didn't, but empirical evidence suggests otherwise.

But then my P220 barely gets out on the highways, its primarily used within city limits as an errand runner a moped replacement even.

That could be a factor but I cant say with certainty.

A.P.

Re: 2020 Bajaj Pulsar 220-Fi BS6 spotted

I use to own the first gen 220F carb model when it was launched. Had this lovely carbon Steel color option then. All black components, with the Grey color on top was a brilliant combo. I, like a dumb fool, sold it after a couple of years, since i was going abroad for studies. I deeply regret my decision. As for the rear brakes, they worked wonderfully on mine, but mine were the pre-Bybre brake calipers.
A small walk around -
