Re: Fast & reliable bike to carry bodyguards, under 3 lakhs?

Overall it is in pretty worrying for the common man as these 'bodyguard' types increase.

It is in fact, tacit encouragement of a private militia.

Of course this gentlemans concerns might be legitimate, however it downright dissapointing for the ordinary tax paying citizen that the police is so ineffective that certain people are allowed to have to a swarm of 'guns for hire' riding around with them for protection/intimidation/ status.

I believe private militias should neither be encouraged or legitimised.

Bodyguards and guns? Isn't Bollywood taking care of the fantasy world, why bother creating scenarios best left on screen?
I'm sure 99% of the time, it will be for crowd control and man Friday tasks.
Whatever bike he chooses, harder part will be ensuring his boys wear a helmet all the time.

Cheers

<3 lakhs preferred per bike, and not a Bullet due to its poor acceleration. The bikes need to keep up with the luxury sedan on Mumbai's open roads.

The bikes will also be abused as the bodyguards are on rotation, so something durable & reliable.

Thanks much in advance!

On a different note, suppose your friend is a SOBOite (Colaba) and he wants to go to Pune / Navi Mumbai. For sure, he will take the Eastern Freeway. In that case the bodyguards on bikes cant tail him, as no 2-wheelers are allowed on that stretch. A point to ponder!!

Re: Fast & reliable bike to carry bodyguards, under 3 lakhs?

Forgive me, but the idea of adding body guards on bikes seems to be inspired rather by hollywood movies than actual gap analysis of the security arrangement. When I read GTO's OP, the scene of MI:Rogue Nation sprang to my mind - Lot of entertaining sharp riding and one handed shooting, but IMHO, far away from reality.

I am no security expert but intuition tells me the idea of ferrying bodyguards along is meant to have a security cover at all times. So if the luxury sedan in question is always zooming away on open roads, then it kind of defeats the purpose. Although this can be easily fixed if the sedan just drives behind the gypsy. Just like the races - safety car sets the speed

Also, if the need to go faster when possible is that important, then the real need here is a faster car for the bodyguards.

Re: Fast & reliable bike to carry bodyguards, under 3 lakhs?

Upgrade the gypsy to an ecosport (or equivalent) and problem solved to the most part...If the luxury sedan is doing 140plus then I dont anything can solve the problem. If the big shot needs a car and 2 bikes as protection, he can afford a better escort vehicle. In support some of the comments above, if security is a real threat to life one needs to do a proper analysis, incl. routes, decoy/switching cars routes regularly, bullet proof cars etc...else this whole thing is a bollywood type 'power show'
