re: New Royal Enfield spotted; it is the Hunter 350!

One main issue I see with RE is their front end aesthetics. The profile is not too far from commuters. It's something about the headlight and the fittings around it. They're simply not looking beefed up for their weight class. Lack of USD forks adds to the starving. Interceptor front end is more like the old Crux, and this hunter too seems to share the same lankiness. Even the rear half of Interceptor is pretty skeletal. Only exception is the Bullet & its derivatives with their unibody nacelles and overall proportions.

Looks rather modern from what I can see. Still not gas-charged shock in the rear.

No LED lights upfront. Cost-cutting is very obvious.

re: New Royal Enfield spotted; it is the Hunter 350!

Nice pictures. Looks very similar to a bonnie from most angles. I wanted to give my RE Classic 500 a similar treatment but wasn't sure if the modifier would be able to do justice. I think a fairly good job by the designers. I find the exhausts of RE 650 twins really ungainly and bulky and the one used here looks chunky yet compact enough. I hope they do not end up plonking exhaust pipes similar to RE 650 twins and spoil the look.

Upcoming Hunter 350 will be available in two variants :

- One with disc brakes at both ends, and
- The other with a disc up front and a drum at the rear.

Quote:
With regards to the braking hardware on offer, while the lower-spec variant will get a single 300mm disc up front and a 153mm drum brake at the rear and single channel ABS.

RE is a specialist in churning different bikes based on one platform and engine. I can see tough times for CB 350 siblings ahead.

Is it just me, or is that protruding exhaust pipe up front looking like it also doubles up as a crash guard!

re: New Royal Enfield spotted; it is the Hunter 350!

I'am totally opposite of someone who would ever consider buying royal enfield or retro bikes in general, the reason is the same why I won't buy an Ambassador if it is sold today.

But, I have to agree Royal Enfield got that success and they seized it and made the best of it, you go to their showrooms and they are so happening, forget bikes even cars don't have such showrooms with generally great enthusiasm and ambience, almost like a cafe.

Then the constant improvement and new products they have started to launch in the last decade, I might dismiss Interceptor as an relic of the past with performance of similar sized bikes from the 50s, but it is a very very well done and priced product and works big time, hell I'am tempted to buy one.

Then the different editions of their existing bikes, cool paint schemes which are not half hearted, different kinds of bikes, different categories altogether with Himalyan, then Scrambler now this, they are on a roll.

I'll still conclude by saying, I'd still never buy one but this is a company with atleast some iota of heart, soul and character, there are many with similar or even much more success but they are not even nearly as much driven and passionate to make the extreme most of their brands and make it much more than just business as usual.

Kudos to Royal Enfield for that, their efforts and intentions are right up there with the very best, they have indeed made the most of what they have.

re: New Royal Enfield spotted; it is the Hunter 350!

RE Hunter expected pricing is predicted to be around 1.3 lakhs for the base model

If true RE will hit a jackpot. If the engine is tuned a bit to make it more rev-happy this can be the demise of the Honda CB 350. Thoughts??

It's strange if they price it less than 1.5L, as classic 350 is around 1.9 and Meteor is >2L now ex-showroom. I don't think it is realistic to expect anything less than 1.5, which itself is pretty low compared to it's siblings.

I followed the links posted by you and searched internet and got another link on their YT channel. I think if priced well, RE has a winner again!
