Xtreme styling, looks like a doctor's apron like body panels and a robo face! I've nothing else to write about the Hero Xtreme 160R, hope the folks buying it like what they pay for!

Here's a walk around of the same courtesy ZigWheels. Those petal discs with red stripe along the circumference and white tank kinda reminds of Apache. Headlight looks similar to Honda xblade.

The red bikes in the background of the video posted by Soumen looks really good though. I am sure other colors will look equally good.
I just want to know whether this will be available in full black to remind me of my first gen CBZ with gold letters.

Has an uncanny resemblance to both CB Hornet and xBlade. Just look at the beefy design and headlamp setup. The new chassis and a mono-shock, Hero literally realised what they lacked and stepped into the game way too late and at a time when FZ's and Apaches are selling like hot cakes.

A bold new attempt by Hero. The claim the fastest time to 60 and the bike is supported to be lighter than competition as well.

But will it succeed in a overcrowded market with formidable competitors like Apache, Pulsar Na and Suzuki Gixxer , only time will tell.

Hero has not had a smash hit new launch for a long time now.

For once, I like what Hero has come up with this time around. The design is a good departure from their conventional commuter bikes that they have been doling out for last 20 years. Even the Xtreme 200R looks boring compared to this.

Would have looked even better if they had given a circular headlamp like that of the Xpulse, no ?

No comments on the bike, but why is this such a low key launch? The uncle in the picture looks like he was about to go Sunday shopping at Dmart and ended up at the launch instead. Create some hype Hero!

I guess it wasn't a launch, just a reveal.

.....

This is a nice design for a change, a far cry from the tackyness of the older generation xtremes. Looks very similar to the 1.R concept shown off at eicma or something last year.

This bike looks like a living proof that Hero and Honda are like that couple who cannot get over their breakup.
On a serious note though I am actually quite intrigued about this one as it looks so different from your generic Hero product and if it really follows the Fill it, Shut it, Forget it Mantra of Hero coupled with good driving dynamics Hero may have a solid seller at it's hands. Can serve as a worthy upgrade to Splendor-Passion folks. Pricing is going to be VFM that is one area Hero rarely misses in.

This is a nice looking bike, with good specs.
People would really want to buy this, due the brand reputation and perceived low cost maintenance image that Hero enjoys.

However, Hero dealers are really not very keen to push their new products, for e.g. Xpulse, and Xtreme 200 due. They seem content selling only their long running and popular products like Splendor.

I wish Hero dealers steps up their game and give competition to Bajaj, Yamaha and TVS in 150/160 CC segment.

JLS

I read an interesting article by Motoroids on Xtreme 160R today.
Honestly I feel their point of view resonates with the mass commuter segment buyers to whom still Hero's fuss free bikes make a lot of sense.
If this bike is priced well which with Hero is almost a certainty then Hero does look like having a hot seller here.
And it may be a bold prediction but I daresay they have a potential successor to original CBZ here.

The only big problem with Hero's latest 200 cc offerings was relative lack of power, keyword here is relative even though the bikes were extremely VFM a lot of prospective buyers got impacted by almost all reviews saying bikes are under powered relative to any other 200cc bike. If hero can and by specs it looks like they have managed to match this 160 cc engine specs with the competition I don't really see any major negative in this product.
