Honestly, I am not interested in what a manufacturer is selling to their authorised dealers as this is not retail sale and does not represent a true picture of people purchase trends. Few dealers stock units and then sell it when they expect a demand. In case of cars, I have seen dealers buy from another dealer for adamant customer if they don't have the perticular model/colour/engine/gearbox combination.

I (or rather we) did not have choice until Vaahan portal started showing vehicle registrations. This I would consider a genuine purchase trend than what SIAM wants us to see. Is it possible to collect data from Vaahan onwards? I understand it may not have details we are habitual to see but eventually it would or we will get habitual.

Very happy to see TVS having 4 out of the 20 toppers. The ever likeable, very lovable workhorse XL Super Moped doing good numbers consistently, brings cheers to me. Saw a good number of these new vehicles delivered and some not so old, some old, some very old mopeds chugging along, carrying crazy loads without complaining.
But currently being a customer of Bajaj, somewhat unhappy to see Avenger among triple digits. Deserves at-least 2000 per month in my opinion. The not so good power and torque increments compared to its 180cc sibling might be the reason, price difference b/w them not being remarkable.

Royal Enfield seems to be accounting for over 85% of the 350cc+ category sales. The other marques are simply nowhere in the numbers game. I wonder how their dealers survive this.

Suzuki Access the no.2 Scooter now? Not Jupiter? Shows how the Japanese reliability gains over the market. I own a Jupiter and it's a pretty good product with 12" wheels and telescoping front shocks even before 5 years. But times are changing fast.

I am pretty stunned by the sales figures of Jawa. Zero sales for many months! Think Mahindra missed some plot here.

Looks like Mahindra is not keen to reveal the sales figures of the Jawa.

It cannot be zero sales, as we can see deliveries happening via social media channels.

I did not realize that Access is the second most selling scooter behind only the Activa. I thought Jupiter was way more popular. But Jupiter+NTorq sells as much as Access.

The Legendary Busa in its last 2 months of production! 29 Units shipped. Highest in the last 12 months. Seems like there is a last-minute frenzy to lay hands on the Falcon before the BS4 deadlines kick in! Will be interesting to see how the Feb 2020 numbers shape up. Seeing a lot of deliveries on the dealers social media handles.

Wish we could track electric vehicles separately. Only Chetak sales are visible in the report but early birds like Ather might have some good numbers to show. Also, I think instead of 'Sales Figures & Analysis', we should start 'Dispatch Figures & Analysis'.
