Yes it is online, download KTM Care app. Upload your VIN, email id / mobile number and register. Then go to manuals and you can download the same. My cousin who has bought along with me managed to do this, i couldn't since they have given incorrect mobile number. Went to showroom and they said have to be done at service center.

Re: KTM 390 Adventure India launch confirmed. Edit: Launched at 2.99 lakh.

Hi. This is my first post here on the forum, and I would like to start with the delivery of my KTM 390 adventure. I got the bike's delivery last Friday. Just completed 150 kms over the weekend, which was mostly in the city.

Here are my initial preliminary observations (these are my personal novice observations):

Pros:-
1. The ride felt relatively very comfortable (relative to my earlier ride which was the KTM RC 390).
2. The handlebars are wide, and the forearms are not at all loaded (felt almost weightless).
3. The throttle response was smooth, compared to the earlier generation's Duke/RC.
4. Really comfortable to stand on the footpegs, and ride over potholes, bad stretches of roads.

Cons:-
1. There is some squeaky noise from the front brakes when braked hard.
2. Slight vibrations on the front windshield.
3. The lower RPM feels very erratic (3-4k). I'm used it though coming from the RC

I'll share more on the bike, once I clock some decent kms on it.

Thanks!

On a side note, the leaflet that I got from KTM states fuel octane as RON 91. Have they remapped the ECU for our quality of fuel or what ?
I've been receiving a number ranging between 32 - 35 kmpl. This includes city + highway riding. I am sure 40 kmpl on the trip computer at least should be achievable if ridden on highways for long. Tank range on every full tank on the display is over 400 km. While riding, it hits the reserve mark around 350 km, but that depends on individual riding style.

Have been using Shell V-Power so far.

WOW! So many deliveries!!

Big Congratulations to all the new owners and wishing miles and miles of happy riding. This is been one very long wait and hope its worth every second.
From some of the very initial feedback on last couple of pages, it seems like a mixed feeling so far. A new bike always takes a while to settle down and our muscle memory to unlearn the old and learn newer positions. Also, most here have superior bikes such as v storms, multi-stradaS, versys, Tigers etc as their point of reference, hence hence setting the expectations way higher at sub-conscious level.

Congrats, you have already started making things the way you want .
Hope you will have a trail ride with 'nasirkaka' soon and compare notes on 390ADV and GS310. Please also share how Versys650 would have faired on same trail.
I have been waiting more eagerly for his bike to arrive so i can steal it for a nice long trail test ride. Am sure he will be hiding from me for next few months, but hoping to catch him soon with a surprise and hijack his 390adv. Comparisons with GS310 will be inevitable as there aren't much options there, but for any one who is not after the BMW brand, the 390adv makes for a better practical choice. Good part is that a lot of BHPians have got the bike so we can except an ownership soon with genuine experience for all to benefit.

How come you guys are getting FE figures in 30s. Duke 390 never gave these numbers, being similar engines. Or is it an issue with my bike only

If you are getting between 25 - 29 kmpl, you should be happy for your engine heath. Extracting anything more from a 373cc may actually affect the engine adversely. Also these digital console fuel gauges are very erratic, interceptor 650 winning the cup on fuel gauge weirdness.

BHP-ian rb2399 gets ~28 kilometers to a liter in his V-Storm while touring and I get 25 kmpl< and lesser on the FZ-25, so, it is really weird.

There are a lot of other factors that also contribute to fuel mileage, like sprocket, engine gearing, your own weight, throttle management, brake management, and engine maps as well.

My erstwhile versys used to give me 24-26 all the time, and Nasirkaka’s versys refused to go above 19. Imagine that..within the same generation brand of motorcycle.

If you take cruising speed as a constant , say 110-120kph the vstrom will definitely be more efficient as it'll be doing considerably lesser rpms than a fz25 at the same speed . Low cc doesn't guarantee efficiency..at what rpms they ridden at matter a lot. Some user manuals would mention the optimum rpm for cruising to get max efficiency.

Totally agree. My 1260 gives me 16-17 kmpl normally with the frantic style of riding - once when I was riding with a friend who was doing his run-in on 10R and sticking to 110-120, I saw 21-22kmpl.

Re: KTM 390 Adventure India launch confirmed. Edit: Launched at 2.99 lakh.

Hello! Have a few questions.

1. How to adjust the headlight beam? It's currently pointed towards the sky
2. Anyone experienced a sudden hiccup during riding? As in a loss of power for a second. Happens randomly. Not just while up or down shifting.
3. I cannot find the quick shifter in the menu anywhere. Is it enabled only after first service?

Cheers,
Hrishi

You will find a screw on the LHS of the headlamp console.
Would have to remove the deflector to insert a screwdriver to adjust the beam.

2- disable quick shifter under menu, I had the same issue when I had it enabled in first gear. Abrupt engine cut off. Once I switched off the quick shifter, this issue also has gone.

3- motorcycle, along with abs and mtc. But I guess the updates software has this disabled, for run in I guess.

Re: KTM 390 Adventure India launch confirmed. Edit: Launched at 2.99 lakh.

A friend and fellow enthusiast Reneav just shared yesterday that his N650R returns better FE than his N250R, his reply was;

Quote:
Well, i cruise at 100-120 usually. Be it the 650 or the 250

250 is at 8k rpm to run 100 kmph
650 is at 4.5k rpm to run 100 kmph
Being predominantly an interstate commuter(Chennai - Bangalore) he has to belt his N250R more compared to his N650R and as a result the latter returns better FE.

There are enthusiasts in this very forum that get same FE on their 650's compared to my single pot 220. That is just that, the more you wring the throttle the more fuel you burn.

Cheers,
A.P.

Who are you

That aside, will need to run in the bike a wee bit before we can go stress the engine out offroad. Am already itching to drop a 14t counter shaft sprocket on the front. I just need to compare the existing sprocket with the regular duke 390 to confirm its the exact same before i order one and bolt it in there. 99% it should be a drop in.

The odo sensor is on the front wheel thankfully and not attached to the front sprocket like we had on the versys. This means whatever sprocketing you do, odo numbers remain the same.
