Thanks Vishal. One of my friends has the HDT one and said that the mount near the footpeg isn't ideal/sturdy enough. His broke off in the middle of a ride apparently. He has the mount customized now, but I do not have a picture to share right now.

I checked the Zana one online and found it to be good. The same friend also has heard good things about it. Will check out your suggestion as well.

i want to try out at a different service center, can someone please help me out based on their ownership experience in pune.
Hi. Interesting feedback. Just bought the ADV last week and Akurdi never came up in my mind! My experience with Sai Service Phugewadi has been really good for my Bajaj bikes in the past. Maybe visit them and see what they say? Of course, I rely on local mechanics after the warranty period ends.

I have been riding the bike for the last 1 week. Trust me, I am the 35-year-old kid who was planning to buy a used Multistrada 950s - a direct upgrade from my Pulsar 135LS after having ridden the Multis in Italy for weeks.

When you say 'Expert,' I assume it's Subrata (Schumi). After Adil Jal Darukhanawala, I don't think there have been real experts except for Schumi. It's just been Youtubers.

If you watch his complete analysis, both past and present, you will come to know what he means. He doesn't really consider this an ADV. And that's why the electronics don't make sense; according to him, the Duke 390 does a better touring job for its price point minus the real estate. However, I bought this for pure touring and comfort. I can vouch for these Bosch electronics. These are silent saviors and work behind the scenes, especially Cornering ABS.

So if you plan to ride this bike for a normal commute and complete off-roading on weekends, yes, just go for the X and save some money. But then, unless you are a die-hard fan of KTM, I feel better options from RE and Hero exist. But if you are planning hard-core touring, consider the additional mulah as an investment toward your safety.

About the Quikshifter+, it's finicky, just like the Neutral. Every owner will figure out his/her own method to make it work. Mine works like a charm above 4000 rmp for upshifts. Still in the learning process to figure out smooth downshifts.

Thanks !! I got info from akurdi that they have the requisite part now. Will be submitting the bike for repair tomorrow. Fingers crossed. phugewadi is a great option thank for reminding. I went there for service when i owned AS200. Only gripe being its about 25kms from my location.

Local mechanics are great after the warranty period, i have found some trusted ones in chikhali.

Re: The KTM 390 Adventure Ownership Thread!

Got the delivery of my SW yesterday. The delivery experience was fairly OK. The motorcycle was covered and was unveiled along with the big key handover picture. I never had this experience with any of my 2 previous RE deliveries though. Do they do it only for youtubers then? Makes me wonder!

Coming back to the ride experience. Too many vibrations! The vibrations on the footpegs are such that I get a tickling sensation. To my surprise, there are vibrations on the front brake lever as well. I have never experience this on any of my previous motorcycles. Is this normal? Does it get better? Coming from an Interceptor, this is really annoying me at the moment(I cannot believe I am saying this about an RE though).

The motorcycle also has erratic acceleration sometimes, as if the fuel supply got cut off for a millisecond. This is not limited to low revs/speed though. This I can live with, though.

No other complaints so far, thankfully. I am 5' 7", so it is a tall affair and will need some getting used to as I am literally on the tips of my toes.

Congratulations on the new bike! I have the exact same observations about vibrations and fuel supply. Accelerating at certain rpms (somewhere around 5500 rpms I think) is also vibey. However, the test ride bike I had ridden did not have as much vibrations and felt much better. So, I believe these will improve after the first servicing.

Thanks Siddhant!

How old is your motorcycle now? One thing that I observed is that the vibes are more pronounced till the 3rd gear and maybe till 4k rpm. Post 4k, they mellow down to some extent, but do not disappear. So, in higher gears, it is less vibey.

Hmm. No such vibrations on my standard version or I am used to such minor rattles vibrations from my Bajaj and Ducati experience! Always good to mention this issue multiple times when you get the job card ready before the service. The only vibrations I seem to get are on the instrument cluster when I fail to downshift. I don't have an action camera yet, so couldn't capture it. However, it's something similar to the Multi shown in this video. If you are a Shakira fan, no offense plz.

The low-end torque is a known issue. Planning to install FuelX rather than modifying the sprockets.

Cruise Control Guys!

I know we have Throttle locks. But I wonder if anyone has a good pocket to test this for the community. They managed to port the 890 ADV's cruise switch to the 390. The only caveat is it doesn't work with the rear brake as the 390 ADV's Canbus doesn't provide that reading. But that is fine, I guess as long as we have something ported from stock.

I have experienced the instrument cluster vibrations and I understand them. The bike doesn't like a higher gear at lower revs. With riding boots, the vibes are obviously muffled on the pegs, but when wearing floaters, its a tickling massage. I talked to some of my friends who own the adv, and all of them never experienced vibes on the front brake lever. Hopefully they settle in in due course of time.

Thanks. I will keep an eye on these issues and post them here if they appear. Typical Bajaj DNA, I guess. Pegs for a foot massage and mirrors to admire your biceps.

Good that you brought up the mirrors. Any aftermarket suggestions since the stock ones are obviously a joke?

Re: The KTM 390 Adventure Ownership Thread!

I had a nice ~45 odd kms ride today, which included some commuting to and from work.
Few observations:
1. Quickshifter works well above 4k rpm, but only for upshifts. Downshifts are a hit and miss.
2. The motorcycle is much more subtle above 4k rpm.
3. Lower gear/rpm vibes seem to have reduced a bit. I’m not too sure. My mind could be playing games with me or I’m getting used to them.
4. I found it easy to manoeuvre in traffic due to its higher vantage point and weight advantage.
5. Turning radius is better than the interceptor.
6. I did get to do some urban off roading over a long stretch of potholes here in Mumbai and as I had the compression set on a little softer side, it was fun. Although, I feel I would need, maybe, 1.5 to 2 inch risers.
7. These Metzelers are super sticky, even on wet roads and inspire so much confidence.

Congratulations and welcome to the clan.
Since you are coming from INT 650, you might take some time to get adjusted to the erratic KTM motor which is fun to revv
