I need to check what the new engine has to offer on the refinement front. The electronic wizardry does not appeal to me that much.

As someone who rode the gen 2 Duke 390 and currently owns a gen 3 Duke 390, I can say with certainty that though the refinement has gone up a notch, it's not a day and night difference. However, the improvement in the low end is very substantial. I can easily putter around town in 3rd gear doing speeds as low as 18-20 KMPH. Any lower than that, it'll start to knock. You also won't have to drop down to 1st gear to go over ungodly speed bumps.

Re: The KTM 390 Adventure Ownership Thread!

Posting a complete feedback on FuelX Lite. Tall Claims, but solves only one!

What the company claims and what has been my real experience:
1. Plug & Play: Somewhat, but the procedure of finding the stock plugs is not
2. Cooler Engine: Not a noticeable difference
3. Rideability/Reduced Jerks: Can vouch 100% for this. This is one issue that the FuelX resolves completely. I am sure the new FuelX Pro+ does an even better job.
4. Lesser Downshifts: Okayish. Only applies to specific scenarios.
5. Better low-end torque: No much of a difference.

What YouTubers claim:
1. Solves the Low-end torque issues completely: Totally false!
2. Buy the Pro: Complete false. The Lite and Pro version are not much different, unlike the aftermarket ECUs. Both do the same thing, except with the pro you have the option to override the default equivalent of the Lite. The lite version comes with one default map (equivalent to 6-7 of the pro)
3. Better Quick shifts: Not really. Shifts above 2000 rpms are still choppy sometimes.

Re: The KTM 390 Adventure Ownership Thread!

So, finally interesting bits and bobs happening at IBW. The India-spec 2025 ADV 390 unveiled in fully glory. Press houses are going on full roast with this one. Looks tall, handsome and butch to say the least.

Seems it might come up with TUBELESS SPOKE per the information shared.

Cheers!

Autocar quoted the same. But in their news article. I can't see it on the demo bike.

This bike is expected to do what the Multistrada did for Ducati. KTM AG is in a completely bad shape, brink of insolvency. They have to get this right. India should not be a problem as such, thanks to Bajaj. But high hopes on this bike, globally.

Nice review. My Adv has a FuelX-Pro and I do agree that ride-ability is definitely better. I haven't ridden a stock bike yet but this additional accessory is useful. With the Pro version, you get the ability to change the setting as per your needs. I mostly keep it between 4 to 6.

On a side note.

Quick question - has anyone experienced this?

I was cruising at a steady 90 kmph on the old Mumbai-Pune Highway near Talegaon when, out of nowhere, the main instrument display went completely blank. The bike itself didn’t stall, and there were no other issues - just the screen going black, which caught me off guard.

Doing what any IT professional would instinctively do I pulled over to a safe spot, turned off the ignition, said a quick prayer, and switched it back on. Thankfully, the display came back to life as if nothing had happened.

Would love to hear if anyone else has encountered this glitch and if there’s a known fix or explanation for it!

To make no bones about it, we're looking at a probable console failure in the making -- not now, perhaps might. A console should never flicker nor turn off -- lest we turn off the ignition. We're looking at either a finicky console connector or a probable fault in the console's day/night sensor or the PCB itself. Do observe for a while, if all stays well good, if it pops up every now and then time to get it inspected.

Good luck.

Cheers!

What a hilarious take on troubleshooting

This seems like the screen flickering issue reported on numerous 390 Adventures, many have reported on this thread as well and if I recall correctly, some 790/890 Adventure owners too had this issue.
Few were fixed with a software update and some needed console replacement. I suggest you get it checked at your trusted KTM Service and ask them to hook up the bike to check for any errors or updates. If it's not solved by this then a console replacement can be a costly affair, I'm hoping your bike is under warranty but make sure you go to a service centre you trust in this case. I always take my bike to the Phugewadi service in Pune as I've had good experience and Mr. Vijay there has been quite helpful in sorting out some issues I faced with my bike so you can consider them as well.
