Then my friend you have the best bike in hand
If I were in your place, I will just try to shed some weight off Himalayan and having fun until I exhaust the capabilities of the bike.

Quoting Ashwin from another thread as this is what helped me this weekend.

Visited Chintamani early morning and was exploring the hills it has to offer. Found a really nice trail and attacked it head on. However, my bad habit of upshifting too soon put me in a spot and I stalled Reyah on a decent incline with low traction on offer.

I thought that I need to run back and call some one for help
However, I remembered the quoted post and then brought down the bike using clutch as break.

Climbed up to the top easily.
But but ... coming downhill picked a wrong line and the bike just slipped. Thankfully, I had installed the crash guards couple of days earlier so no harm done !!

Re: 2020 BMW G310R and 310GS facelift

I wonder why no action on this thread ?
Anyways, I will keep the ball (or rather wheels) rolling

Explored a really nice trail near Hoskote this weekend. 1 nice thing about the bike is that even when I kept the engine on boil for good 20 - 30 mins, the fan didn't kick in.

Hit a dead end at a certain patch. Decided to take a quick break.

A twig stuck in the gear assembly which is sort of a trophy for riding the trails

2020 BMW G310R and 310GS facelift-friend.jpg

Found another guy having a break with Reyah

2020 BMW G310R and 310GS facelift-fall.jpg

At a particular point I didn't stop to walk upfront and check what lies behind a huge incline. And as soon as rode till the top I realized its just big rocks and boulders. Stalled the bike and got it down with the help of engine breaking. However, dropped it at the last stretch as I got too tired and slipped

2020 BMW G310R and 310GS facelift-final-destinatuon.jpg

Finally this is where we reached.

I am realizing now that I need to travel in a group. Else the day is not far when I will be stranded. Folks near whitefield do PM me for exploring places nearby.

With this Reyah is at 2000 KMs. With good mix of trail riding I am getting 25 - 27 kmpl. 1 niggle I am facing is that the cluster is vibrating a bit at idle. Need to get it checked. Anyone else facing the same ?

Re: 2020 BMW G310R and 310GS facelift

Has been busy past few weeks. It is an ideal bike for city filled with traffic, unmarked humps and potholes.

An overenthusiastic activa rider bumped into my front wheel while crossing the road and my bike fell for the first time at very low speed. Crash gaurds served its purpose but the right brake lever broke.

Walked into BMW showroom and luckily the spare was available. It costs a hefty 3956 Rs for a single brake lever since it is adjustable in BS6 variants.

Please be careful while you drop your bike.

Or put handguards. Prices range from 1400 a pair to 10-15k. All of them do the exact same thing.

Protect your hands and levers

Hi Guys,
Does anyone know what the current waiting period is for a G310R in Bangalore.
Thanks

Quoting my own post.
The vibration issue was not from the cluster but due to a loose nut from the crash guards. Tightened it and everything is smooth now.

Also, as informed by BMW folks earlier, the rear number plate started making some noise due to the constant rubbing of metal part with the rear fender. They suggested I get a double sided tape fixed to tend to this. However, I just bended the number plate and now there is a considerable gap between both the parts. No chance that I will hear the rattle again

Have been doing couple of rides, especially with impulse folks. And I am glad to report that Reyah chugs along whatever I throw at her quite easily. Sometimes, the weight does play a spoil sport but then I feel I need to build my skill set.

Couple of things on which I wanted to get some opinion:
1. I feel I should get fork gaiters or covers (like this) as I ride a lot in dirt. And I really don't have patience to fix the busted seals.
2. Need a larger set of footpegs as the stock ones are really narrow. Apart of after market stuff on bandidos etc., can we fit the ones from ADV 390 ?
3. Anyone who has fitted a headlight guard like this ? Real world reviews will be appreciated. For this specific product, they are asking the customers to fit it on the stock headlight with a double sided tape. Was looking for a more cleaner solution.

2020 BMW G310R and 310GS facelift-img_20210404_072351.jpg

And a parting sort from recent sole ride (230 Kms in 6 hours with average mileage of 33 kmpl). According to me cruising at 100 - 115 kmph with earplugs is doable all day long.

A friend and fellow BHPian had imported a similar product from the UK for his big bike. I had checked some installation videos and I was surprised to learn that it had to be installed using strong double sided tape as well. Apparently it is a pretty smart and long lasting solution.

So if we want to remove it down the lane, would it be a piece of cake ?
I just don't want it to impact the stock headlights in any way during installation of removal (in future).

The other option is the steel grill guard, which I don't really like.

I wish we had something like for this 310 GS. Would have bought it in a jiffy.

Yeah, you dont have to worry about a thing. For reference, the product that I was talking about was Slipscreens headlight protectors.

New colour scheme (style passion) expected to be introduced for g310r in 2022
IMO it looks better than the current style sport (grey)

Re: 2020 BMW G310R and 310GS facelift

Owners of the facelift 310GS / R, have you noticed fogging on the headlight? I noticed it during the first monsoon ride of the season. Next weekend, I noticed it even when it was not raining (just overcast). Took it the ASC, the SA hosed the bike down and sure enough, the headlight fogged up within 10sec.

It was replaced under warranty after 10 days (the job took three hours, because almost every side/front panel has to be removed). Took the bike out in the rain today, even the new headlight fogged up.

Design fault?

Re: 2020 BMW G310R and 310GS facelift

Yet another price hike on the BS6 310 twins.

The price was increased by about 6k in Jan '21; now by 10k.

Quote:
The prices of the twins have gone up by ₹10,000 before you ask. This means BMW G 310 R's price is now ₹2.6 lakh, while the BMW G 310 GS' price is now ₹3 lakh.

I have not experienced this at my end.
Can you share couple of pics ?
