Exactly my point too. Not have to fight a long battle with a rude dealer for refund. Completely beyond me why would they not allow cancellation on a vehicle which they can't delivery before 5 months saying it is a customised order. Any tips guys ?

Re: Royal Enfield Meteor 350 Fireball leaked, now launched at 1.75 lakhs

Completed a 350km drive. Bangalore-Nanjangud-Bangalore with pillion. Vehicle has completed first service last week @ 520kms on odo, so kept speeds to 80kmph in this drive. But 70-80 is very relaxed. It is as relaxed as 40-45kmph on most of the 150cc bikes.

Total kms covered in the ride - 348.2
Fuel consumed - 8.17L [Tank full - tank full at same petrol pump]
Mileage - 42.6kmpl

Was pleasantly surprised with mileage, but patted myself for disciplined driving.

Rider comfort as already mentioned by many is top notch. Pillion comfort is average. My wife was forced to take a break every 60-80mins due to small pillion seat. I'm thinking if a wider air cushion seat could solve the challenge.

All the bikes are of the same colour, is this colour that popular or is it normal for an entire batch to be the same colour.

Cheers

Haven’t yet cancelled.this gives some hope. Will wait till mid march. Rode the TD bike again yesterday and once again fell in love with it. If one is not a speed demon this bike is a beaut. Just hope this break in production and the subsequent rush to fill up backlog does not impact quality

Re: Royal Enfield Meteor 350 Fireball leaked, now launched at 1.75 lakhs

I have asked RE to postpone my booking till August 2021 as I don't see any point in getting the bike in the month of April/May 2021.

Delhi weather is not favourable to ride from March till August.

Re: Royal Enfield Meteor 350 Fireball leaked, now launched at 1.75 lakhs

Did another 500+ km 1.5 day Palakkad-Kochi-Idukki-Palakkad trip with my elder brother. He owns an interceptor 650. We started from Kochi at around 8:00 am ( planned was 6:00 am) and after umpteen number of photo-stops, tea stops reached Idukki dam area (Painavu) by around 12:00 pm. While i couldnt even think of keeping up with Inty on highways/open country roads, where Meteor had Inty for lunch was in moderately bad roads, gravel roads and twisties. Meteor could easily handle semi-bad/bad/gravel roads with ease while in the corners she is IN on her own league. Inty is very good but weight playing the spoil sport here especially in the twisties. I enjoyed the handling so much that i kept scrapping the footpegs in each and every corner possible . One thing meteor didn’t like is demand for sudden acceleration when in higher gears. She will protest and vibrate ( as expected from a large long stroke single) if asked to do 80 suddenly when you are in 40 ( in 5th or 4th). In such scenarios one need to down shift - let her spool up nicely and shift up. I usually dont ask her to accelerate suddenly but at times while trying to keep up with Inty i have tried to push her by simply twisting the throttle (in the wrong gear) and ended up down shifting to calm her down. Even after pushing hard I am getting somewhere around 37-38 easily, which had impressed me very much ( not my brother as he was complaining about 13 L fuel tank and sub-20 kmpl mileage of Inty while pushing her)
Some pics (Vlog will be online soon)

Good that your Meteor is keeping you happy! What saddle bags are you using ? How are they holding up ? I'm looking for a good saddle bag for my Meteor such that it won't be uncomfortable with pillion as well. Any suggestions are most welcome.

Cheers!

Thanks Mate! I am using Terra saddle bag that i bought from spartan pro gear mount road few years back ( for my R15s). Its not very big but can hold couple of days luggage, flip side being compact and no issue for pillion ( pillion actually sit on top of straps) . so far no issue and it is pretty rugged ( my friend took it to ladakh and all). You get a rain protection cover as well. seems good overall for me..

I guessed it right. Mine indeed was somewhere in the line up. I got a call from my dealership today that my bike has arrived. I went and completed all the formalities today. I am told that the bike will be delivered in 4 days from today (after the registration). I was earlier told that the delivery is delayed and I will get the bike only in March from earlier committed date of 26 Feb. Surprisingly they have delivered earlier than said date. I guess RE have indeed ramped up the production and all November bookings are currently prioritised for delivery.

Re: Royal Enfield Meteor 350 Fireball leaked, now launched at 1.75 lakhs

I am facing a strange issue. Please let me know if someone faced this before or what could be the solution:
  • I received email from RE about bike delivered at dealership. I booked it back on 30th Nov and it was custom silver super Nova + Touring seat + Touring mirrors.
  • I went there there today for PDI. I found touring mirror + windshield + custom Badge missing.
  • Though manager assured for mirror and windshield but for badge they said they will check. I called RE customer care and they also didn't have any answer. I again got a call from dealer stating if from company, badge hasn't come then they don't aware of options ahead though they will check and let me know.
  • I again got call from dealer and they requested me to share invoice which should contain custom part order. I have share the same and they came back with logic that in my custom order list, badge is not included. Below is the snapshot for you:
  • My concern is that I am 1000% sure, that I have given my name and while ordering, it was showing 0 rupees but then I don't have any artifacts whatsoever since once you book custom bike, you cant open that custom configuration in APP again.
  • Now looks like this will delay my bike, but how I will get Badge? Or whether I will get it or not? OR will I get same bike after couple of weeks lying there ( which I hate to do so )? OR what options I have given that booking amount is non-refundable??

Very strange situation for me.

Re: Royal Enfield Meteor 350 Fireball leaked, now launched at 1.75 lakhs

Suggest to take delivery as is. Later after some time you can order separately as accessories.

Why do you want to take risk?

I don't think custom Badge will come later. that's what I checked with RE customer care and they are not sure.

Otherwise I can take !!
