You are doing the right thing by buying a Unicorn, coz be it a learner or an expert everyone enjoys riding the unicorn.I am sure you will have a nice experience.

While buying a 2 wheeler always consider condition over mileage.

Especially with a Honda there is nothing to worry if they are in caring hands.

I had bought a mint 2006 Unicorn in the year 2007 which had then done around 6-7K kms for 45 grands, after using (long trips/ rides & city abusing) it for 2 years & adding 28 k kms on the odo i sold it for 33 grands. used to keep my bike clean, changed the oil whenever required, and replaced the clutch plates at 30k kms. apart of this i had spent nothing on it.

I was very happy with the Unicorn.

Wish you luck.
Thanks for the tips/input Chintan. Will keep my eyes open for condition over mileage.

go ahead and buy a uni mate, its a bike every one can live with irrespective of the usage per day, i had second thoughts too but i chose this bike over zma for i need that extra 10km mileage and i am happy as hell with its performance and over all biking experience ,

just try and make sure the bike is not more than 2yrs old with 40K kms on the odo type a lesser run bike well maintained types is nothing to have second thoughts about go ahead mate.

and good luck.

Re: Is a second hand Honda Unicorn worth buying for a year's use?

It's an old thread but have a question.

I came across a well-maintained, 3-year old Unicorn with 20K kms on the odo. Any suggestions on what might be a fair price for such a bike in Bangalore?

If it is a well maintained Unicorn then price can be in between 42-46K.

How smooth is the engine and gearbox?

Anurag.
