Re: The Honda H'ness CB350, priced at Rs. 1.90 lakh (page 6)

This bike has so much going for it - looks, refinement (possibly, considering Honda makes some of the best bike engines), great pricing, loads of tech, and safety! This has tubeless tyres, which a few REs (all?) still don't have. It's the perfect mix of retro and moderness. And, again, reliability should not be a concern considering Hondas seem to last till kingdom come.

Re: The Honda H'ness CB350, priced at Rs. 1.90 lakh (page 6)

After coming to the geared bike market with a hit like Unicorn, it is sad to see where Honda has reached. Hero did a similar blunder a while ago. Please see picture for reference.

IMHO, the Honda Hness will fail. My reasons are:
- This does not suit the average customer's palate. Looks are dated
- The bike is too small for a large CC engine. Saw a reviewer sitting on it and it looked puny.
- Seems like a bad rip off of the Triumph. Cringe worthy!
- Honda is straying from its usual image of sharp looking bikes.

P.S. I used Kapwing, a free collage making site, to create this. Hope the orientation is ok for the mobile viewers too.

The twin horns are something you can fit later at a thousand odd bucks max.

Can't comment on the BT thing since I never mess with any external stimulus while riding. But to me it's something that's going to be a short lived farkle. Especially on an analog dial (voice commands?).

The paint you are going to live with as long as you own the bike. Or repaint her. Not cheap.

The other option is find a DLX guy who wished he had the dual tone option and offer to swap tank and side panels (and locks) with him.

Cheers, Doc

While the digital images can be resized so that both CB350 and Splendor looks about the same dimensions, in real-world, CB350 won't look puny. Infact, it is almost 23cms longer than the splendor, for example.(Length:Splendor classic-1935mm, CB350-2163mm)

People are really quick to pass opinions and take judgements without even seeing the bike in person!
I suggest you go see the bike first and then share your opinion. I had seen it and shared my views a few pages back and also compared it briefly with my Jawa 42.
The Honda Hness is looks wise quite larger than the Jawa.
Comparison with the Splendor will not hold any ground once you see the bike in person.
In picture editing it is possible to make any bike look bad (or any actress appear amazingly beautiful!) But the real deal is what you see with your own eyes. Of course people will have their own likes and dislikes, but we should evaluate a product from the value and the features of the product and compare it with existing offerings in the market.

Avid bikers, please guide me here. What would be the insurance on a bike costing Rs 1.90 lakh. BigWing Dealership is very friendly and completely okay if I get outside insurance. But they also say they will be able to support my claims better if I go with them. I have asked for the invoice and their insurance quote today (as suggested by few BHPian friends of mine)

If you compare the dimensions side by side with Thunderbird 350x, the numbers are comparable for Hness, it should not be that small. Based on the available data Honda is pitching this against RE. Looks are subjective, and technology is better. The refinement also should be better. Since there is less chrome chances of rusting also could be less.

Re: The Honda H'ness CB350, priced at Rs. 1.90 lakh (page 6)

Totally dig the retro styling, the fit finish and quality seems great and validated by the YT Vloggers. Being Honda, general reliability should be good as well.

I was hoping it would be a 500CC twin, pitted against the 650 twins, hopeful now that they may actually launch it.

At this price point its a VFM buy as well.

Only downsides for me,

> from the many videos, the bike does look small, a 6ft tall reviewer dwarfed the bike. Need to go check in person.

> The power figures of 20PS and 32Nm are actually making my TB535 look much more powerful that it felt like earlier. Of course, I know about the vibes and reliability and parts falling off etc, even then..

Do you mean him? The bike looks perfect for a guy that tall.

No, it wasn't him, If I can get the link from history will post it here.

This is not from Eye level, its probably the cam angle etc playing with our perception. Best to go check it out in person.

If that was the case, the Royal Enfield won't sell in such numbers. Having said that, I rest my case.
The sales figures will speak for themselves.

Also, my splendor comparison was not about size but the look.

Here is a pic of one of the tallest reviewers sitting on the Highness (he is 6 ft 1 inch). As per his review he is quite comfortable with the stance (his channel is "Power on wheels" if you want to see the full review.

On a lighter note, the largest of riders can make even the biggest of bikes appear small! Here are some pics of wrestler Khali on an Enfield.

I had to go back on the rant I posted before CB350 Launch (I will continue to pretend that H'ness is not it's name )

Honda is actually managing to pull this off till now.(RE delaying Meteor is a direct indication).

To be perfectly frank I was not interested in this launch but when CB350 was revealed I found it to be a pleasant surprise to say the least.

The first thing that struck chord with me was the resemblance or homage to Splendor. MY first bike is Splendor Plus which I have been riding since 10 years so CB350 did brought some right kind of nostalgic feels for me.

On this note to all those wondering about the height factor, I am 6'2" and riding Splendor since 2010 without any such height specific issue, CB350 is definitely bigger so I don't think tall height of rider will be of any concern.

So I continued to notice the developments and information reveal about CB350 and slowly it's starting to become the answer to a question which I had since long, Which bike will be a worthy successor to my Splendor ?

From visual appeal point of view Honda has hit bullseye.
From pricing point again a Honda will always be a well engineered product and for my need CB350 is well priced in my opinion.

Now I am not going to make this purchase any time soon so might as well wait and see what is coming next from Honda (500cc to go with these same looks would be a good bike to pick) as well as the serviceability aspect of CB350 as there is no Honda BigWing showroom in Bhopal

'Royal Vs Highness' battle is playing out now. Honda will target Interceptor next and it's going to be a 650CC challenger, is my guess. As usual they will hold their cards close to the chest till launch

Re: The Honda H'ness CB350, priced at Rs. 1.90 lakh (page 6)

After watching multitudinous reviews of the stationary motorcycle, I'm convinced Honda have nailed it. Soon, there'd be reviews of the machine on the road. Looking forward to them.
Two things that are certain put-offs:
1. The mo-cycle can only be bought and serviced at BigWing dealerships. They are scanty.
2. The name H'ness is wonky.
