Yeah, it sounded like a single alright but hard to say if it's liquid cooled or 250.

Royal Enfield vs Royal H'ness - that should leave no one in any doubt as to Honda's intent. Honda the troll, who knew they would go so low! I hope it's not a damp squib.

If there is a chink in the RE armour it is that they don't have a 500cc single at the moment There isn't one planned for a while, although RE has the Himalayan engine which needs to go square to hit the 500cc mark.

If this new Honda is a 500 or even a 400 they could have priced it a palatable premium to the meteor like say 40k. RE postponed because they didn't want put their cards on the table. There is a cat and mouse game going on here. So what's next, just a guess Honda will launch with prices to be announced later.

Honda being Honda might pick up some unicorn chassis and make a half hearted attempt at chopping off something here and there and plonk the left over CBR 250cc engines and come up with an all new cruiser.. and position them against the RE Classics. In their defence the Ckassic 350 makes less power than the ol CBR.

The bar in India is so low, that it's easy to position your product no matter how pathetic it is.

Hope they prove me wrong..

Unfortunately, you may be proved right, in all probability, considering Honda's past exercises in our country. Either they will launch the jackass Rebel or they will launch something similar to Unicorn and will price it obscenely. Only if they would launch a downsized CB 1100....

Same with Honda cars as well - the test mules are rarely spotted till the launch. The last real exception to this scenario was the 3rd generation City.
I don't know what I was thinking when I posted it.

I did all the calculations and then posted to check if I was missing something. But it felt good that I thought that its October already :P.

Thanks

Only Honda could have kept this tight a lid on things even though we are so close to the launch! One thing is for sure, people are interested and talking about the new launch though we all dont know much. That is really tough to pull off in today's world where everyone tends to cast judgement on new launches even before seeing it themselves or sitting on the bike.

Honda is on the right path so far, now for the actual launch in a couple of days time. I hope the Honda CB650R also makes its way to India soon to complement this new bike launch and add to the company's sales figures.

Jokes apart I really hope Honda does NOT do a Honda anymore, and hope they introduce more of their interesting portfolio of 2 wheelers and at the right price. Serious about selling bikes and not harp on "50 of x model sold off". While other manufacturers are laughing at Honda and gaining market thanks to Honda's approach to the Indian market.

Dear Mr. Honda,

The only lesson we learn from the history is that nobody learns from the history.

Please prove this saying wrong on 30 September.

Faithfully yours,
(Somebody who has a soft corner for your engines, for your reliability and for your reasonableness of service costs.)

IMHO, this is not going to be Rebel variants. The soundtracks i have heard so far and then mapping those against Rebel and GB400/500. The soundtrack looks more closer to GB series than Rebel series. GB Series engines being simpler to produce and if Honda has been able to make GB series engine BS VI compliant, then looks like it is going to be a GB400/500 motor derived engine and not Rebel as Honda is looking to keep the costs low.

If its a naked classic and looks anything like that sketch, its a winner for premium commuting!

If the bike is anything like that sketch, and if it comes with an egine to match the show, it is going to be a sure shot winner.

Hmm. I thought it will look a bit cruiser like. For volumes Honda needs to follow RE by giving a 300cc but also a 500cc You may have the best engine, best ride etc. But if it doesnt look like a big bike and sound like one people may not be enthused.

Hope they show some spunk in the bike segment atleast since the volumes are much better than cars if you have the right bike.

I think that is a clickbait article using a lightly-edited outline of a CB1100, here's an actual image for reference:
Name: Screenshot 20200929 at 11.29.27 AM.png

Size: 424.2 KB

The image shown in the article is exactly the above minus the radiator. Plus it has multiple header pipes while we (mostly) know this bike is going to be a single.

The Honda H'ness CB350, priced at Rs. 1.90 lakh-hness.jpg

So, its going to be a baby CB(1100) with a thumper engine? and for the record I hate the H'ness moniker.

Bikewale article also looks like a clickbait to me, just for the sake of views. But if it is anything like a downsized version of CB1100 then I need to start saving money from today itself. Anyways in less than a day, we will get to see what it is.
