Re: The Honda H'ness CB350, priced at Rs. 1.90 lakh

Nice pics. I owned Dominar 400 for over two years and recently rode CB350 for a brief distance and was blown by the sweet engine. Honda it is.

drop a gear down to 4th bike easily pulls up to 110Km engage 5th it continues at that speed until an incline come's up. for a guy like me who likes to play with the throttle to cruise got really irritated 4-5 times.
A reason could be that the 5th gear of CB350 would be an overdrive and will only be good for cruising at comfortable RPMs, may not pull like you wish. You would need to drop a gear and pull it to a speed you need to ride and then use 5th gear to cruise, maintaining the speeds.

Re: The Honda H'ness CB350, priced at Rs. 1.90 lakh

looks like my Honeymoon Period with my CB350 is making me slaphappy.

During breakfast ride yesterday with Friends. I really liked the way the bike handled when ridden between 70-95Kmph (in 5th Gear). The bike's mannerism when ridden at those speeds is impeccable. We also had a perak and CB250R during the ride. and when compared to those 2 it lags on top speed, but it excels in terms of
1. Comfort
2. GC

I am now keen on experimenting with getting CB250R engine plonked onto CB350 chassis

some snaps from yesterday's ride

Hi,
Any owners went to Himalayas in those high altitudes?? Anybody faced any challenges in those heights?

Apparently a few owners did face issues in those heights.

There has been a fix where the Honda engineers have advised to remove the coupler to make it work.

Re: The Honda H'ness CB350, priced at Rs. 1.90 lakh

I fixed a Mo-Tek rack with integrated backrest. It was a bit pricey (4000) but I found the quality to be far better than the alternatives(2500). It was also possible to switch out the helmet lock with this one unlike the other one that the dealer had in stock.

I had an old Trek n Ride top box which I moved from the Versys to the Highness. I don't think it is the best look but you can't argue with function.

Another accessory that I had read about in the tailbag thread was the Viaterra Seaty. I ordered it but then realised that it would be quite a chore to attach it to the highness with the screw holding the seat in place. I didn't bother fitting that on the bike.

Using Viaterra Seaty for about 2 weeks. It was quite easy to install it in CB350 seat and fits rather well. I have had short pillion rides too- and they didn't find it uncomfortable either to sit on it. Very useful to carry things around since I don't have even a tank cover

This explanation seems the most logical:

Re: The Honda H'ness CB350, priced at Rs. 1.90 lakh

I just finished a 700kms round trip to scenic Landsdowne. My CB350 is on stock seats and the ride was super uncomfortable (for my bum ). I heard the split seats from Honda are comfortable than the stock one so might go with them. Any one using those and can provide some feedback? Also if anyone have some suggestions to make the stock seats comfortable for long rides, please let me know. Much appreciated.

Re: The Honda H'ness CB350, priced at Rs. 1.90 lakh

Update on the Honda CB350 seat.

I found the seat to be massively uncomfortable for rides longer than 30 minutes. My bum tends to get numb which meant I have to constantly readjust my position.

I got a new seat made from Khajanchi in Karol Bagh, as recommended on this thread to me. The new seat had HD foam and more padding, which also meant a slight increase in seat height.

Unfortunately, the new seat did not solve the issue for me. It is equally, if not more uncomfortable. The first few minutes are OK but later I start feeling numbness.

I think I have a preference for harder/firmer seats.

Any advice on where I can get a hard/firm seat (like on KTMs), or simply a better solution?

On another note: 20 days back I did a bike expedition from Manali to Spiti to Chandrataal and back to Manali. It was done on a rented RE Classic 500. The bike was fully loaded with panniers, toolkits, and a pillion. I have to say, I was super impressed with the comfort. We were riding for 8-10 hours a day without feeling any numbness on the bum. The pillion echoed the same thing. There is something special about the RE's "bouncy" suspension. And the seats worked just fine.

Have to you tried the reverse, cycling pants instead of upgrading your seat. It helps a lot.

Wouldn't commute to work, or go to the grocery store, or the gym, in cycling pants.

Same...need to hear more feedback about the split seats. I got the stock seat remade i.e. foam removed completely and replaced with HD foam, no help whatsovever. I'm looking for a solution too.

I think the cushioning is fine, its the shape of the seat which is uncomfortable for longer riders. It's bit too narrow in my opinion and does not provide adequate support.

Re: The Honda H'ness CB350, priced at Rs. 1.90 lakh

I started my CB350 after a week for a breakfast ride and the check engine light came on. I was shocked since its has done just 1800 kms and was perfectly fine last time. Bike rode just fine otherwise with no power loss or anything. After 30 odd kms the light went away on its own. No idea what happened but I just hope it stays that way.

Try wearing padded Decathalon cycling shorts inside your jeans / pants. They really help.

There are rumours of CB350 production being suspended temporarily. Anyone who’s heard this?? Is this for the new ECU update??

Guess this rumour is from a Big Wing dealer in Mumbai…
