Harley-Davidson India confirms new motorcycle launches, details on updated dealer network by December 2020.
The company has issued an official letter that is being sent to all the existing customers by Sajeev Rajasekharan, managing director, Asia Emerging Markets and India.

We would like to assure you that we are working closely with Hero MotoCorp to ensure a seamless experience for you starting in 2021 and beyond. Genuine Harley-Davidson motorcycles, accessories, gear, H.O.G. activities and important services such as warranty and motorcycle service are currently active and will continue from January 2021 onwards.

We will continue to stay engaged with Hero as they bring the Harley-Davidson experience to life for you. I understand you may have concerns or questions about this transition. I want to share a few updates with you and will continue to communicate details as soon as they become available

Harley-Davidson owners group on Sunday conducted protest rallies called Dark Rides in as many as 14 cities in the country against the decision of the American motorcycle company to pull out of India, and in a bid to show support to Harley-Davidson dealers who say they have been left in the lurch by the decision of an India exit.

Sunday's protest rides were held in Ludhiana, Chandigarh, Dehradun, Lucknow, Delhi, Gurgaon, Jaipur, Indore, Bhopal, Raipur, Kolkata, Bhubaneswar, Mumbai and Guwahati. Many of the participating in these rides outlined that while getting spare parts for their bikes had become difficult over the last several months, it is the 'unfair treatment' to dealers that also concerns them.

Hero MotoCorp Signs 10 Harley Davidson India Dealers Into Their Network

Since Harley’s departure in September 2020, dealers have discussed compensation packages on offer. Existing contracts expire at the end of 2020. Harley-Davidson Dealers Association is steadfast in its demand for fair-compensation for all dealers, representing all 33 Harley-Davidson outlets in India.

Considering the time-bound, take it or leave it situation on offer, 10 of 33 dealer partners have accepted terms to be a part of Hero MotoCorp’s dealership network. Meanwhile, dealers continue to wait to hear from Harley-Davidson on matters pertaining to adequate compensation. The on offer new dealership contracts being held off for 23 of the 33 dealers is indicative of how the situation isn’t beneficial to anyone.
