500cc Bullet production has been stopped! But why?

Was getting my thunderbird serviced lastweek..

Bullet 500 is available in BLR ( against order ) and the buzz from the mechanics is that a Thunderbird 500 cc version is around the corner , Most probabaly with the AVLd 500 cc engine

The new Bullet 500 will be the 'Lean Burn' engine sold as electra X abroad. Launch in May. Integrated gearbox launch later next year I think. Price of 500 LB Bullet will be 1.05 lakhs

In foreign markets as well as Indian markets, the problem with Enfield is that their engines are unable to meet ever growing stringent environmental norms.

Besides, making a cast iron engine with all its parts is more costly for Enfield.

By making an Aluminium AVL engine, they can cut their costs, stay within environmental stipulations and keep the same price (thereby increasing their profits).

I think it makes sense.

What doesnt make sense is: if it is priced more than the old 500cc bullet.
