500cc Bullet production has been stopped! But why?

One thing I don’t understand is the reason why RE has stopped production of its flag ship model 500cc. May be they are coming up with an AVL (that too not confirmed) But that is not a reason for stopping production of existing one even if they don’t have sufficient sales.

I think no demand, the poor FE and the high retail price of around 1.05l has also contributed to its ends

They say............
Production for the Standard 500 has been
stopped temporarily. Unfortunately all new motorcycle launch plans
are
confidential and hence we will not be able to share such information
with
you.

However, do keep visiting our website for latest updates.

Regards,

Royal Enfield Team

Probably stopped for India. RE in the US only sells the 500 cc version. Then why stop sales at all? Does RE have any other manufacturing facility?

They've been selling the AVL500's abroad for quite some time. And a friend have extensively ridden the AVL 500 in india. According to him the bike's a blast and very fast with lot of potential. This friend has modified his Bull 500 to do 150kmph true speed on the gun.

And when nobody's buying a 500 then why would they still produce it. The prices of spares are huge. A 350 header costs 300rs and 500 header costs 750. A 350 bore costs 2.2k and a 500 bore would cost you around 10k. And Bullet 500 is an Indian effort with a lot of short comings and not as reliable as the 350.

As of today, U can onl buy new Bull 500ES from one showroom at Chandigargh. They have 10 factory-fresh pieces and 4 of them have already been booked. I'll be booking the fifth one. (Hopefully- if i manage to sort out my finances within the next week)

I would advise you to wait for the AVL500...it's around the corner. And also a twin spark Thunderbird.

Are U sure?? The AVL 500 has been "Around the corner" for the past 2 years now and although the 25bhp and comparitively newer technology plus a faster revving engine would be most welcome but am fed up and sick of waiting.

Any news source to confirm the upcoming release?

They wouldn't pull out the old 500 from the market for nothing, would they? They've been selling the AVL500 abroad for some time now.

Have patience. Don't go buy that old 500 now.
