Don't think this will be targeted to those who are looking for a logical and everyday functional buy. Kawasaki has always charged a premium over all motorcycles in competing engine displacement category. They'll be ok with selling a 400 of these per month at a 40-50k premium than selling 4000 at cut-throat prices.

re: Kawasaki W175 coming to India. EDIT: Launched at Rs. 1.47 lakh

C'mon Kawasaki! These lore looking motorcycles wouldn't make anyone bat an eyelid. C'mon especially with Kawa servicing costs and network and spares, one can be rest assured, this will disappear traceless as traceless as it comes.

Cheers!

re: Kawasaki W175 coming to India. EDIT: Launched at Rs. 1.47 lakh

Seriously? The Ninja 300 update which a lot of people were waiting for is nowhere to be found but an overpriced 175cc bike is under testing. Is Kawasaki expecting people to service a 1400cc zx14r and a 175cc bike at the same service center which are already far and few between

When it comes to gutless motorcyles with classic looks, Indians prefer to give business to their own.

Dead on arrival . There are already good classic looking motorcycle for India and W175 is not needed at all. If they can price this around 70k to 80k, There are chances for some bookings.

haha.

this is generating more interest than the KTM 250 Adv.

The logic behind this launch is unclear. tiny engine. Old design without modern touches.

This will dissappear quicker than how long this thread is around

The tail pipe looks hideous. Never seen anything like that. A huge mistake from Kawasaki. The venerable Ninja and this Frankenstein just cant be seen rubbing shoulders

The Honda Unicorn is almost 1 lakh ex showroom. This will definitely be more expensive than that for sure.

What a horrible combo of commuter and retro classic disaster!

Looks really out of sync with the times. this may have worked in the 1990's.

re: Kawasaki W175 coming to India. EDIT: Launched at Rs. 1.47 lakh

As opposed to the general consensus I kinda love the old school design of W175. Yes it’s low on power and torque and it’s going to be priced above the bikes in the same power/displacement category but will provide exclusivity in the sea of usual bikes on the road.
Also let’s not forget, it weighs just 126 kgs. So the power to weight ratio should be similar to the RE 350s. Should be a stylish commuter and also an able weekend tourer (if this can cruise at 90-95 sans vibrations ie.).

re: Kawasaki W175 coming to India. EDIT: Launched at Rs. 1.47 lakh

Kawasaki is very likely to launch the W175 retro-styled motorcycle in India on September 25.

The bike will be offered in two colours: Ebony (black), and Special Edition Red.

- 13hp,13.2Nm, 177cc air-cooled single-cylinder engine

- Old-school styling very similar to that of the W800 currently sold in India

- Likely to be priced around Rs 1.5 lakh, thanks to localisation.

re: Kawasaki W175 coming to India. EDIT: Launched at Rs. 1.47 lakh

As i had said earlier, this looks more like a half naked commuter motorcycle than a retro motorcycle. When i think of a retro motorcycle today, i think of the Jawa, Yezdi, Honda Highness and the RE Hunter. Knowing Kawasaki and it's pricing strategy, this i am sure is going to be priced above the 1.3-4 lakh price (ex showroom). D.O.A. in my view.
