Re: Smurfy - My Honda CB350 Ownership Review

Hi Doc, I have lost the cover it came in, so yes you're absolutely right about the dings. Unfortunately, over the years, I have put in a lot of scratches and use it very occasionally now. Visor is very clean and this pic was taken after a hard ride. Maybe I can get it repainted, but it has those lovely glitter that glisten. Can't let go either. Once you got Shoei or ARAI, it's very difficult to move to other brands. It costs $200 in the USA (Shoei TZ-R is the model, but discontinued now).

I have a similar AGV that I cannot and will not let go of.

And the MPA before that.

Helmets used over thousands of kilometers become a part of your riding persona.

Personally regardless of how shabby my helmet has become, I never let it out of my sight and never perch it on anything but a stable surface.

Because unlike my helmets I have only one head.

And it stats with me wherever I go.

Cheers, Doc

The steel/chrome is of really good quality. Spent the better part of 31st, getting a mirror finish using Meg's metal polish paste. Now, my bike just gleams

Re: Smurfy - My Honda CB350 Ownership Review

Just got delivery of my highness and have a few queries. Awesome write up and the way you have added subtle touches to enhance the bike is just great. 1. Where can I get the bar end weights you have used? 2. Which brand of mirrors did you use? Where can I get similar ones?

Re: Smurfy - My Honda CB350 Ownership Review

Congrats on your purchase. I'll answer this in detail because many of you have messaged me as well regarding this. The bar-end weights are from Honda specialist (Their racing parts division), and BigWing Topline/Silverwing do stock them. They're actually for the CB 300 (so far), but fit nicely. Pricey, though, at over 3K (Since they're imported). I just loved the way they're machined for a smooth finish, and are quite heavy. Alternately you can fit the Pulsar ones, but you'll need the insides from the Yamaha FZ. Those will cost you just Rs 250. These mirrors were on my friends Triumph, and I found them fab. So I just unscrewed them from his bike, much to his annoyance. LOL. He had hand-carried them from overseas (Now, he has a set of Triumph UK mirrors, but a different shape). It's auto-dim, and I don't know how that works since there is no battery whatsoever. Maybe just a clever use of coated mirror tech. The Benelli Imperiale has a similar mirror shape in chrome and weighs a bit, I'm told (But, not auto-dim). Probably, you can ask them for one set (No idea about the price). Last option would be the Bajaj Avenger mirrors. You get them in Chrome as well. Hope that helps

Re: Smurfy - My Honda CB350 Ownership Review

Thank you for the speedy reply... Already on the hunt for them. Don't think the topline in kochi stocks them and will see if I can get a set from Bangalore. Will check out the Benelli options before Triumph. .
Another query is on the Honda voice activated system, if that has been engaged how do you go through the various other menus on the display and the controls on the left just keeps navigating through the app? Once the app has been engaged do the options like the range, battery, trip and odo disconnect itself from the handle bar navigator? What's the way forward to work on both?

Re: Smurfy - My Honda CB350 Ownership Review

After-market engine guards have come into the market and my friend installed one on his Gray CB350. This one is sleek, and offers good protection. He even got a crash guard installed by the same person, (in chromed steel)

Are these accessories available from an online store or are these from an accessories store in Bangalore?

Hi Guys,
Just wondering if the Bajaj Avenger 220 Mud splash guard will fit the CB350 front mudguard. To me it looks like a neat fit.
Heard Honda is bringing in the CB400 (similar in retro style as the 350) . Any idea if this rumor is true and by when ??
I hope it is true though !!
regards,
Seacat

Re: Smurfy - My Honda CB350 Ownership Review

It should fit with a slight change in fixing brackets. Honda is bringing either the 500 or 650, one of these. But are keeping it very close to their chest

Re: Smurfy - My Honda CB350 Ownership Review

I'm exploring a lot of tiny roads alongside highways, and chanced upon a piece of heaven. Just sat and took in the beautiful views, meditated for an hour - and traversed to Malavalli. Our Country is really beautiful, and few places are simply bliss!
