re: Team-BHP 2-Wheeler of the Year, 2020. EDIT: It's the Honda H'ness CB350!

My vote for HONDA CB350. A brilliant move by Honda to challenge the leader and also a welcome move which will keep RE on their toes and focus on quality and after sale service.

RE may not feel a pinch in the near future though, Honda bigwing strategy is still a gamble and I doubt they can sell even 10% of what RE can.

As a product, RE is still ahead of the game since they know the pulse of the market and next gen classic 350 should consolidate their position. However Honda's entry is a win win for us customers

Unable to vote, but I would go for RE Meteor simply because it is a large improvement over the existing RE (350cc range only). Hiness would come a close second.

Voted for Meteor 350. I TD it and mostly would be buying it. A lovely bike from the stable of RE. I wanted to buy an RE for a very long time and the deterrence was the headache of maintenance. Even here I do not feel that would be any different; however, driving this is much much better an a classic or TB.

The reason why I didn't vote for H'ness is that that it is not available near me, so acquiring is tough and maintenance would be tougher than purchase. However, purchase of Meteor would be only after TD of H'ness.

I think I would be the only one who would select the BMW R18. 9 know it's not too relevant in the Indian market. But it's there on the list and hence gets my vote. BMW did an amazing job on the R18 to make it look as classic and vintage on the original R18. There are very ... very few motorcycles that in their new avatar look as good or similar to the Originals.

On context to the Indian market, its no doubt the Honda CB350. I would have selected the Meteor - but that was what was expected eventually from RE. Honda coming up with a model to directly rival the Royal Enfield / this was a sweet surprise.

Voted for the RE Meteor 350. It was a close call between this or the Honda H’ness CB350.
The Honda was a progressive model with a great design leap and captured a few of the essence of this segment however the RE has always had the strings attached to the heart. Have rode a friends Thunderbird earlier and it was amazing. Now the Meteor promises to evolve and bring in the next generation addressing some of the gripes that RE owners desired. The styling is macho and still manages to capture the essence of what RE stands for. I have to be honest though, I have not ridden either and my vote is only based on TBhp reviews.

Voted for KTM 390 Adv. It opened up accessible adventure class machines with a reasonably good specs for masses at a competitive price. Forced the competition to look up and modify their strategies around entry adv.

It's definitely the Honda CB 350 H'Ness. Shaked up the entire market, stirred up the boost we needed and brought RE to it's knees in terms of brain storming. Worthy of all the attention is getting.

I have not ridden any of the bikes in the poll, but voted for the KTM 390 Adventure.

I am thrilled that Honda has decided to take on Royal Enfield with the CB350 and the Meteor sounds like a great effort that will do wonders for RE's image in the 350 segment, but both are 2 lakh machines that are slow even by 4 wheeler standards. I'd much rather get a Dominar 400 by spending 10-20% more.

Voted for the Meteor, it is the only one I’ve actually ridden. What a comfyyy one this is! I honestly have nothing against the CB, but where does one get hold of it? I saw a parked one, and must say, it is beautiful, especially that headlight cluster at night. But for me, RE seems to be getting it right in making an already aspirational brand more accessible to all, by taking the bad vibes out of the equation. The smartphone integration also shows that they seem to have a finger on what’s good to have and what’s a necessity. More strength to them, and Honda, someone needs to keep RE true.

No second thoughts whatsoever!

Bike of the year will be , and has to be the HONDA H'ness 350 hands down.

My vote to Honda H’ness CB350 (despite the name) - finally a well thought through challenger to RE's dominance - hopefully, this will encourage RE to also do better.

Voted for Chetak

For an Indian brand to come up with a premium electric 2 wheeler offering with the intention of resurrecting iconic Chetak name is truly praiseworthy. And I think electric option for a 2 wheeler is far more attractive option for Indian middle class buyer like me to get into EV world.

I just hope they improve the delivery timelines and continue improving it.

re: Team-BHP 2-Wheeler of the Year, 2020. EDIT: It's the Honda H'ness CB350!

Voted for Honda highness cb350! Booked first and then test rode, and lucky to get delivery from first batch itself.
Test ride and city riding in crazy dug up Lavelle Road almost sealed the decision for me in that first ride itself. I took delivery and rode to native-400 kms away next day and that was another level of nirvana, esp the 4 lane Hassan highway and next came the winding roads of Chikmagalur. It was heavy dose of driving to Bangalore taking delivery and riding back fatigue free. The wow experience was when Honda arranged for doorstep service and it didn’t cost me a space ticket. -400 kms away from Bangalore and extra charge about 1200/- as Honda had well planned scheduled service along costal Karnataka.
Not only the bike but the entire package of premium dealership and service experience is superlative.
Extremely satisfied with Bike and everything with it.

re: Team-BHP 2-Wheeler of the Year, 2020. EDIT: It's the Honda H'ness CB350!

I voted for the Honda highness. In a surprisingly bold move from Honda it has shown the guts to take Royal Enfield head on. The highness is all what the 350 Bullet should have been. I am myself a proud owner of a classic 350 Bullet and am more than eager to upgrade to a highness. Yes the legacy , the rider clubs and the merchandise might not be there. But at least I ll get rid of the vibrations , starting troubles and mechanical issues.

As you would no doubt be knowing as a Bullet rider, of these three, neither legacy, nor riding club, nor merchandise is of much use when the bike is off the road and with the mechanic.

This trio is very popular with the Ducati and Harley boys as well. With similar levels of help and consolation when the bike breaks down.

I hear people here raving about the Interceptor.

And almost every second post is about the suspension and fancy after market mucho dinero brands and springs and do das, as if it's a track going fire breathing monster.

Anyways ....

Cheers, Doc
