Looks better than H'ness in my opinion. The black/yellow & red color schemes looks beautiful and addition of minimalist tail lamp and sleek LED indicators make it look even better than CB350. I wish they had given more power or tweaked the gear ratio/fueling for better low end grunt.
I am really surprised by how both Honda & RE are launching VERY similar products
- H'ness vs Upcoming Classic 350
- CB350RS vs Upcoming Hunter 350
- I wouldn't be surprised if Honda comes with CB350 cruiser ( look at the meteor volumes)
- Some sort of cafe racer from Honda/RE ( Wish list)
In the end I am glad that we, customers are the ultimate gainers in this overall scheme of things.:D

This got me intrigued . Did a google search on the topic .Quoting a very old post from another forum
www.civicforums.com , that came up in the search.

RS Means Road Sailing.
Its means something like it drives smoothly like a boat sails. Get it road sailing.
RS = Road Sailing
SB1 : Civic 1200 HB - 1972-1978 (RS model)
EK3 : Civic Ferio 4dr 1999-2000 (Vi-RS model)
ES2 : Civic Ferio 4dr 2001-on (RS model)
all these models sported the RS Badge
The RS badge was first seen on the 1st Gen Civic that first used the Dual Carb engine. That was a breakthru technology then. It mean "Road Sailing" for its smooth road going nature.

Either honda2wheelers India referred this post for an explanation or RS = Road Sailing is a genuine Honda abbreviation. :)

So the upwards slopping silencer, will it by any means compromise the pillion rider comfort? The leg pegs or the leg rest at the rear might be placed a little higher if my assumption is true something similar in an interceptor. |
Never mind, this is so far the best when compared to the INT650

Personally I loved the colors on this version

Take this as an oppurtunity for a long drive with gang, will be fun to drive I bet. Only question here is the servicing part which needs to be taken care by self temporarily.

Looks great- would love to see long-term reviews of both this and the J
awa 42 2.1 before making a decision.
Side note- looking at all these changes and upgrades from other manufacturers, isn't it time for RE to spruce up the 650 lineup a bit? |
Waiting for long term ownership will be years which is a big NO for me IMHO, to each their own again. Look at RE products if you intend to wait that long, RE have plans to release one model a quarter for next couple of years.

Not at all in my opinion. The color scheme is very different and rich on this bike.

++1, I too seriously loved the color schemes they got here.

The one thing that disappointed is this point, at least a little more power would have done justice to this latest entrant.

++1, Very much true, love the competition. Also add Jawa 42 2.1 to this line.
I hope some more manufacturers are also readying their line up to give more competition to the 350s.
Small changes but makes for a much better looking package. It has it's own distinct "Honda" Personality now.
The H'ness was trying a bit too hard to be be British / Royal Enfield "wannabe".. ending up with no personality of its own.
And thank the almighty for ditching that cringy "H'ness" name.

Just curious to see how Honda will finally sell this bike as saree guard is a regulation part and mandatory for all bikes as per Motor Vehicle Act.
So missing items so far wrt Highness 350 DLX Pro are:
- Saree Guard
- Dual horn
- USB charging port
- Bluetooth system
- DRL
Wonder how this will coexist with the CB300R. Both different products of course, with vastly different engine characteristics, styling, tech on offer etc. But the H'ness was squarely positioned as an Enfield beater. With the RS, think the lines are a bit more blurred now.
New images from display bikes have come now. Not in HD though.
Main features that have been removed when compared with H'ness:
1. No Bluetooth connectivity feature
2. No type-c charging port.
But there are new additions like engine under guard, fork gaiters and dual purpose tyres.
Personally, I like this design much more than the original H'ness and it looks more youthful. The pin-striping on the radiant red with the CB350RS logo looks lit and catchy. We now have only a toe shifter where the H'ness had the traditional heel and toe lever.
Chennai big wing dealer shared with me that the main footrest is positioned rearward by 112mm and upward by 12mm. Handlebar is located higher by 10mm and further by 41mm. I have attached the new brochure that was shared to me.

How would the footrest positioned rearward by 112mm and upward by 12mm make long distance crusing comfortable, as expected from a bike branded RS(Road Sailing)??
I think this is one of the most handsome-looking motorcycles available in India. Not only does it look cool, but if it is based on the H'ness 350, this should be a capable motorcycle for daily use. Hope it sounds just as good as the H'ness, if not better. Would be amazing if this same engine is used on the upcoming maxi scooter. Honda is on a roll and with this design, it might just pave the path for good-looking and performing motorcycles in India.
With regards to the missing features, I feel the CB350 is a more complete and practical package than the RS . One can always install a bash plate, upgrade to better tyres and get a new seat on the CB350. The Dual Horn is a useful feature in tight Indian bazaar like conditions.
Did they do something to the absolutely redundant and useless helmet lock on the CB350? Wonder what was going through Honda's mind with this so called helmet lock. It is absolutely pointless and doesn't serve its purpose, and one still needs to buy a separate lock for helmet.
The heel shifter is missing in the RS though it may not be required for most when using the bike to office wearing a formal shoe, it could be a boon..
They updated it. I sourced this lock extender from Honda and am attaching the helmet there. Its a neat chain with a rubber sleeve, and does its job

This is sweet. I've texted the folks at my home Big Wing dealership enquiring about the availability of this lock extender, and they say they don't have it . This will actually convert a useless addition into something useful.
Still, I wonder what the Honda engineers were thinking before adding this supposed "helmet lock"

It was long back. I watched this video on accessories and asked for one piece

Guys, I noticed this "heel peg" on the CB350RS. Looks like it would prevent the heel part of the pillion's footwear from touching the (hot!) upswept exhaust. Rather well thought out by Honda!
