Kawasaki Ninja 300 BS6 to be launched in Q1 2021

According to a media report, Kawasaki is planning to launch the Ninja 300 BS6 sometime in the first quarter of 2021.

The report states that the Ninja 300 will use more locally manufactured components. As a result, the price of the bike is expected to drop from Rs. 2.98 lakh (BS4 model) to Rs. 2.50 lakh. Since 2018, Kawasaki has been sourcing body panels, lights, brakes and tyres from local vendors.

The Ninja 300 is likely to be powered by a 296cc, parallel-twin engine that complies with BS6 emission norms. The BS4 version of the bike developed 39 BHP @ 11,000 rpm and 27 Nm @ 10,000 rpm. The 6-speed gearbox and slipper clutch are expected to be carried over.

If they do a BMW and price it sub 3L, this could be a fantastic buy. Twin-cylinder refinement and the Kwacker badge may tempt a few over the RC 390 or RR310. Fingers crossed that they price it right and the BS6 engine delivers similar performance as before.

This is the Bike that made me fall in love with biking. A creamy twin, revs as high as an IL-4 and superb quality inside out. That being said, it's sad to see Kawasaki treat India in this manner by selling a globally phased out product. Why not get the Ninja 400 in the CKD way? Finish off the existing kits. The Ninja 300 isn't a starters bike in India. It's time Kawasaki brought their A game to the table.

2021 Kawasaki Ninja 300 bookings commence unofficially for token amount ranging from Rs 10,000 to Rs 50,000 depending on the dealer location.

As per the sources, the booking amount is fully refundable until 10 days after launch. Our sources report the bike is expected to be priced around Rs 3.2 lakh (ex-showroom), Rs 22,000 more than the older model.
