Looks very good. I wish that pillion seat is available for meteor 350 as an accessory.

Instrument cluster looks very promising but how practical, useful, and reliable is to be seen. RE will see good numbers just for the change in Engine to J-Series (Meteor), and any other new things on bike is sure a plus for the ever increasing RE Cult followers. All the best RE, looking forward more on Quality (Product & Service).

The fuel gauge will be unreliable having its mind. Royal Enfield can never get the fuel gauge to function correctly.

Be it Classic 350 or their premium offering Interceptor 650, that part of the motorcycle will always be useless to rely on.

Any idea if RE plans to launch the Bullet 350 on the new J platform? If they are doing this for the Classic 350, I do not see any reason for not doing so for the Bullet 350 as well.

They may or may not. But if this is successful and people accept it well, the Classic 350 also would migrate to the J-platform.

Just that Royal Enfield will need to maintain those looks relating to the old classic for that name to be justified.

re: 2021 Royal Enfield Classic 350. Edit - Launched at Rs. 1.84 lakhs

Do we have any update on the launch date. What major changes we expect in this updated model as compared to the previous one? Sorry I am a novice when it comes to bikes hence asking such questions. Also will it be adviceable to wait for this updated model or should one just buy the current one? Thanks.

I don't think there has been an update on the launch date, but it should be close. The latest images seem to be of a production-ready version.

The major change is of course the new J-platform engine that it will share with the Meteor. I would say it is better to wait for this reason alone. There are a few other changes like the new semi-digital instrument console and tripper navigation as well, but I don't think these are going to matter that much.

Did they blank out Tripper navigation with RE logo?

The speed and display combo reminds me of Skeletor from He-Man. And that on-the-face RE logo looks like an after thought. Any way, good progress from the days of yore. A fuel gauge and a proper handle lock are a big welcome, especially the latter. I had embarrassed myself falling down a couple of times after forgeting to unlock the handle and taking a left turn.

That peach decal on the Olive Green Classic 350's tank.

Anyone fancy a 90's Hero Honda Splendor (black and orange one)?😂

Eagerly awaiting the Meteor based Classic...Hope the thump does not fade away.

The Classic has been the main bread earner for Royal Enfield. A lot is being put on stake by RE here as the traditional Die hard fans may or may not like anyone playing with their ride.

Why fix what ain't broke? I strongly feel that the new classic is going to be a runaway success for RE. The new engine promises to fix the biggest issue with the old generation- The bone jarring vibrations. I however feel the 350cc engine is severely underpowered. Even the new one in the Meteor. RE Should bring back the 500cc engine. Adequate power for most duties with great mileage. ( I consistently get over 35kpl) Everyone in my circle who owns a 350 , regrets not getting a 500 instead.

Completely agree, there is a void for a 500cc variant of all the current 350 singles. This fills the rather large gap between the '18ps-350-single' and '47ps-650-twins'.

A 500cc single developing around 28ps mated to a 6 speed would be ideal. There are many who love the single cylinder configuration but need more oomph than the current 350.
