The pricing, for me, is biggest fly in the ointment. BS4 was around 3.91 lakhs when i enquired. I procrastinated too long and now having to shell out extra moola for basically same bike. I don't sleep very well with such thoughts. I am now thinking not to go for it. Attachment 2128378 |
Agreed, the price is high. But i believe N300 is probably the best motorcycle for our roads (N650 to some extent). You can find tons of them in the used market. If I were you, I would look for a pre-localization non abused model for close to 2-2.5L. This thing rode like a knife passing through hot butter.

Processing charges of 3000/- ??
Kawasaki doesn't seem to be learning from past mistakes!
Also, is there a typo in the official launch document - model year says 2022. |
I got a call from Kawasaki Bangalore. Sales person said processing fees is approximately 13K and on-road the value of the bike is 4.16 lakhs.
I told him in official website it is showing as 4.09 lakhs. First he seemed stumped and started telling that it is not updated yet. There was no clarity on anything , he just said it will all add up-to 4.16 lakhs. I have asked him for a clear number and breakup in a mail. He said booking is open as of now and it will take 2 months to get the bike after booking.
I think the dealerships are not yet briefed properly, their product knowledge is appalling. Bangalore dealership is even more disappointing as already the registration charges are unreasonably high, on top they are just adding 5-10K to the final quotation out of no where.
All in all there was not even a single good bit about the Ninja 300 launch which is in favor of such a brilliant product.
One thing I did not see anyone mentioning is the torque. Its now down by 1nm to 26.1nm as per the Kawasaki-India website. Yeah it hardly matters, but do remember that the bike gained some weight when some parts got localized and now low on torque too.
Related but side note- any news on the Ninja 400 BS6? It was vastly overpriced the last time it was launched, hope this time it comes with a price correction a la the BMW 310 twins.

That bike was a pure CKD unit and there is probably zero chance of a price reduction unfortunately. The Ninja 300 there were rumours of a price reduction but they turned out to be false.

Haha no that would be wishful thinking. But 4.99L ex for the 400 was a tad steep to say the least :)

I spoke with the Kawasaki dealer in Delhi and he mentioned that currently the company is not dispatching any new bikes to any dealerships as they are in the process of making some changes in the bike. Does anybody has any information on this?

I’m currently outside the Kawasaki dealership in Bangalore, after the guy just told me that it’s out of production. Just wanted to confirm it on T-BHP and it probably turns out to be true.:Frustrati

I spoke with my dealership yesterday and they told that the bikes will be available by the end of August or first week of September.
I am having an issue with my bike. After the first service(chain slack was adjusted), the chain is making weird noises at 70kmph and then at speeds above 90kmph and above.
Also, when making a turn at high speed (90kmph+) the bike feels a bit weird (not clear on how to clearly describe the feeling but it feels a bit jumpy like you would feel if you ride over the reflectors fixed on the road).
I mentioned this to the service center guy but they mentioned that the chain is dry and nothing else. But even after lubing the chain it still makes the noise.
Also, i can feel a very minimal lateral play at the rear wheel.
Can anyone shed some light on this as to how this can be fixed. Also, I am fine with getting this issue checked by a outside mechanic, so it would be great if anybody could suggest some good mechanics in Delhi NCR.
