He says the reason in the video that no matter what his relationship is with the company, when it comes to bike reviews, Mister is very honest.

Somehow I feel that the guy (probable ola employee) who lent this scooter to him wasn't aware that he was being recorded because the YouTuber seems to be wearing a GoPro. Otherwise no sane employee who is taked with testing a prototype will risk his job by lending it and filming himself doing the act!

As much as I appreciate the ride and review I hope the Youtuber does not get the employee into trouble. The least he could have done was edit out the persons face so he does not get into trouble at work. But then again that would be a whole different rant about Youtuber's doing anything and everything to get views no matter if it has collateral damage or not.

  • Horn is loud.
  • The seat is wide and comfortable.
  • Slight delay in throttle response. Is it in normal mode or not?

Impressed how the scooter deals with the bad village roads, especially considering OLAs unique suspension setup.

He's impressed by the braking, front and rear discs.

I thought the headlights was good.

He says it's nimble and easy to throw around.

I'd prefer OLA to take their time, keep thoroughly testing and get the product right from day one. I'd rather they do this than be in any hurry to meet any delivery deadlines. Looks promising so far.

Fingers crossed the gullible factory test rider doesn't lose his job lending the scooter to the youtuber.

I was passing by this village in Tamil Nadu very early in the morning, and it was being tested, with a cover on it. Requested the rider. Had a good look, and he allowed me to check it out. I'm guessing it's a common occurrence

Re: Ola's made-in-India Electric scooter, now launched at Rs. 99,999

Any insider news on when t-bhp will be testing this scooter?

These guys are making a bank on thousands of bookings and yet no word on any real life tests or media drives. None of the big media houses have ridden it.

I'm kinda happy my last effort to purchase the scooter was foiled by the Ola app itself.

Sorry but I think that bookings were always open. The purchase window was closed.

Re: Ola's made-in-India Electric scooter, now launched at Rs. 99,999

Ola Electric has raised another $200 million (~Rs 1500 crores) at a valuation of $5 billion as per a PTI report. The latest round saw participation from existing investors and some US-based bluechip tech funds, the sources said.

On September 30, Ola had announced raising over USD 200 million in funding from Falcon Edge, SoftBank, and others, valuing it at USD 3 billion. While the round was closed around June, the official announcement was made recently. The company has previously raised USD 600 million (including $200 million announced recently) from investors, including Tiger Global and Matrix India. This also included a USD 100 million debt from Bank of Baroda that was announced in July.

Few minutes back Ola added a new tab in their reservation page "Confirm Registration Address"
Most of the people complaining (referring to a 150+ Telegram group) that the updated Pincode is wrong. Mine as well. It is showing 110006 .
No edit option as well ! (As of now)
Another glitch !

Re: Ola's made-in-India Electric scooter, now launched at Rs. 99,999

I am facing an issue for the past few days. My Ola App opens, but the Ola Electric card in the App doesn't. When I try to open it the screen just hangs. I checked with some others and they don't have any such issue. What could be the problem? The App seems current, I am unable to update it.

If one wants to cancel the booking or pay the differential amount, there is no other avenue except the bloody App.

Please try removing and re-installing the app. Previously it was not showing my booking/reservation itself on the app. I just cleared the cache and re-installed it and it started showing up..but with the glitch of wrong Pincode.

Re: Ola's made-in-India Electric scooter, now launched at Rs. 99,999

I'm worried the coal shortage will put paid the current Electric vehicle revolution. Electric scooters are poised to take off. As per govt data today, almost 115 (out of 135) of our power stations are facing critical/super critical shortage of coal. There are less than 4 days of coal in 70 power plants. What does this spell for the sector? It is going to take 5 years and more to scale up our solar power stations. Nuclear power not being anybody's favourite after Fukushima. This is a big challenge indeed

Some Q&A helps to get to know the scooter more; wish these kind of reviews were coming from Ola instead of YT reviewers!

Re: Ola's made-in-India Electric scooter, now launched at Rs. 99,999

It's mid October and no notification on deliveries? What's happening?
Is there someone from this forum who booked the scooter? They have not given any review units too.
