Senior - BHPian ![]() | ![]() I was in same dilemma for few months ( except that I didnt consider 390Adv) and finally picked up a 2022 CB500X. Main reasons are value for money ( wrt to prices in Australian market), match against my needs ( 70% highway and 30% off/gravel road) High seating position and cheap to own. |

| ![]() The only downer of the CB for me is the negative display! A positive would have been much more practical and easy on the eye. It also is a super crammed console. |

| ![]() Why are you not considering the Tiger 660? It would surely be in the ballpark of your extended budget and that triple engine will be much more refined with Triumph's adventure history. |

Versys 650 in Australia has 55 PS of power where as the one available in India has 66 PS of power. This power figure puts it nearer to the CB, compared to the Indian Market. I would have taken the same decision if I was in your place. ![]()

In Australia, there is the concept of a Learner approved motor cycle (LAMS) which new probationary license holders & L plate riders are supposed to be riding till they get a full license after 3 years. The conditions are generally less than 649cc and below a certain power to weight to ratio. Versys 650 is available here only in LAMS version which restricts the full power output. Versys 650 costs around 1.1L rupees more. It also falls into a higher registration cost category (> 500cc). So it didn't make sense for me to go for Versys 650. In fact my first priority in the pre owned category was an all black Versys 650, but good ones were not available & what ever available demanded absurd prices.

BHPian ![]() | ![]() Review video for the 2022 version of CB500X. Open YouTube to watch. TL;DR Improvements over 2019 CB500X as stated by the guy.
Honda Big Wing should at the very least offer these improvements in India. The VFM quotient would improve somewhat but it'd still be a costly bike. Towards the end of the video, there is a ratings chart which seemed quite interesting to me. Notice the "Grin" column. |

| ![]() Hello Riders, On a boring Saturday afternoon I accompanied my friend for some test rides and chanced on the Honda CB500X ![]() Coming from the RE Interceptor 650 the CB500X felt lighter and I was perfectly at home with the big bike. As the test ride route was in the city with traffic, I could hardly use the first 3 gears! Low end power felt sufficient. Enough is said on the pricing, leaving that aside, this is a perfect daily rider. In addition, the red and black theme was in sync with my Ravishing Red ![]() Hope Honda considers the naked and the faired 500 twins too for India. Vital info for prospects: Dealer: Big wing Honda Location: DP road, Bund garden, Pune (Opposite Kareem's) OTR Price: ~8.15 lacs Availability: 25 days! Test Ride: Available The sales people were least bothered with the 500X as they were busy with the 350s. We had our own scrutiny of the bike without any intervention. The engine was quite compact for a parallel twin (RE 650 perspective) Happy riding, surjaonwheelz |
