2021 Bajaj Pulsar 220F to get new colour options

The 2021 Bajaj Pulsar 220F is set to get two new colour options. The bike will be offered in Moon White and Matte Black with contrasting graphics.

Apart from the new colours, no mechanical changes are expected to be made on the bike. It will continue to be powered by a 220cc, single-cylinder engine. This motor puts out 20.11 BHP @ 8,500 rpm and 18.5 Nm @ 7,000 rpm and will come paired with a 5-speed gearbox.

The Pulsar 220F is the semi-faired version of the Pulsar. The same fairing has been carried over onto the 2021 model. The bike will be equipped with telescopic fork suspension at the front and twin rear shock absorbers. Braking duties will be handled by a 280 mm disc brake in the front with a 230 mm disc at the rear.

Re: 2021 Bajaj Pulsar 220F to get new colour options

I own a 2014 Pulsar 220F, and I don't think I'm going to let it go for at least another 5-6 years. It's a great city bike, with excellent ride comfort over bad roads and adequate power for city use (which is my only use case for it).

However, I'm quite aghast at the price hikes over the years. This bike now retails at 1.6L OTR Bangalore, which puts it bang in Apache RTR200 4V territory. The latter is a superior bike in almost every way, I can't imagine why anyone would now pick the 220 over the Apache 200.

Side note- all bikes in this class seem to have undergone massive price hikes- first from the BS3-BS4 transition, with the inclusion of single/dual channel ABS, and next from the BS4 to BS6 update. Also, the KA govt in all its infinite wisdom slaps an extra cess once a bike's ex showroom price goes beyond 1L which further adds to the final OTR value. No wonder I'm reluctant to sell my 220.

This is the Polo of the bike world.

Didn't the 220 version come out around in 2007 or 2008 ? The exterior is still the same albeit for the various paint jobs and sticker works.

The only vehicle in the Indian market, that can actually challenge the Polo in terms of face lifts. Only I wish, if it got a GT trim too!

Even the engine block is also the same till date, here it went ahead of the Polo too!

That said, I have one since 2013, which I brought home by paying 93k bucks. 73000 kms, only clutch replaced once, it's a wonderful motorcycle I would say, particularly for the urban areas, and hills - the 220 cc motor has a very nice power band, and pushing the engine while going uphill is still fun!

Of course, I am going to keep it for long!

And it has a custom made T-BHP sticker too.

Re: 2021 Bajaj Pulsar 220F to get new colour options

Bajaj are out of ideas and apparently, have no plan to improve their products. The changes are literally only cosmetic. At least, VW offers a change in features with every "all new Polo!".

Watch the Zigwheels video comparison of the 200NS and the Apache RTR to see how far Bajaj have fallen behind in their product offering.

Re: 2021 Bajaj Pulsar 220F to get new colour options

The white paint scheme with blacked out components looks actually hot not going to lie. But that's about it. The competition has moved on, Bajaj should too. If I am going to buy a bike of this range, it's going to be the Apache. I have huge respect for TVS for offering international standard products. Not so much for Bajaj where bean counters rule over enthusiasts. I have watched youtube videos where people are getting their clutches burnt within first week of ownership of these new Bajaj bikes. The mechanic drills hole on the clutch housing for the oil to lubricate it. Companies like Yamaha and TVS do this in the factory. Bajaj used to do this too but now they are just cheating the customers. They are increasing prices every two months and cutting costs at the same rate.
