TVS have given a new life to the Apache, without going over the board.
You get 50cm of more wheelbase, more power, better looks, better braking and what not!
Petal type discs look amazing, and so do the racing type strips on the body. Great bike, may take the spot for the no1 bike in the 150cc segment

I like this bike. Some nice work they've done on it. Far better upgrade than what Hero Honda did with their Zma!

@Bunny - 50cm longer wheelbase? Think you mean 50mm

Yes! I have read the review in Autocar. The performance of the bike is certainly better than any current 150cc. TVS has done a great job. The bike certianly looks better with these little mods. TVS has striken the right chord with this RTR apache .

Things are sure coming nearer to the P180cc

Man, i think i need to upgrade to more than 180cc.
I don't like to see things in the RVM and things in front of me.

I heard the Yam was coming up with Fazer 250.
Any news on that?

I think they are playing the waiting game to see how BAL fare in the 200+cc segment.

Apache was the best looking bike in that segment in my opinion. The upgrade looks better. Good job TVS.

Why should they play a waiting game? They were the ones who introduced performance bikes, that too way back in 1980s. When people were craving for their bikes during that time, this one should be a no brainer. Yam should return to their strength, i.e. performance bikes. All this commuter stuff is not their forte.

oops : yes i meant 50mm, and not 50cm!

jkdas : 120, yes, on the speedo. The apache 150 used to top out at around 110km/h true, the 160 should do around 115true max, which is around 120-125 on the speedo

prince pervez : we did the shoot of the fazer 250 around 1.5 yrs back at their 'then' faridabad plant.. but still have no news about it!

The Apache RTR comes with better rear sets also! the 150 Apache is a great handler as of now and this one's going to be liked by the track guys even more. The overall look of the bike is neat it doesn't look bulky like a Pulsar. But they should have come out with a bigger engine.

I think only here in India you would find bikes with odd engine capacities like a 135, 160, 180 etc.. It should've been like this - 100, 125, 150, 200, 250 etc. It's as if manufacturers are afraid to make big leaps in the engine capacity dept.

Definitely agree with that. Gives it a more proportionate look. That way the tail of the bike doesn't go way beyond the rear wheels.

I've been a great fan of the Fiero's too. TVS makes some really good motorcycles.

guys check out the paint pattern and foot pegs and the disc!

I do think that Apache looks great. Only if it had come with some 250cc or plus engine.
