Rumour: Honda CB300R to be re-launched in BS6 avatar

Having launched the CB350 and CB350RS, Honda could now be gearing up to re-launch the CB300R in India. Honda is said to have dispatched 8 units of the CB300R last month.

The CB300R was first launched in 2019 but was later discontinued when BS6 emission regulations came into effect. The bike is now expected to make a return with an updated engine.

The CB300R will be powered by a 286cc, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine. The BS4-compliant unit made 31.4 BHP and 27.5 Nm and came paired with a 6-speed gearbox. The BS6 version could have a slightly different output, while the suspension and brake setup is expected to remain unchanged.

The CB300R will exclusively retail via Honda's BigWing dealerships.

If they really want to sell this one, I guess the price should remain what it was before.
It was launched at INR 2.41 lakh ex-showoom before. At this price, it would undercut the BMW G310R now, and that should possibly attract buyers.

It was a good motorcycle, but nothing great.

Here's hoping they get the price right. An absolute must if they want to stay in the game. Anything above 2.5 ex showroom is ludicrous.

I've been eyeing this bike for a long time and was disappointed when they didn't get a BS6 refresh for it. Here's hoping they bring it back at the same price - the reviews are great, the size & power are perfect for my use and of course Honda's reliability!

The blue colour introduced in 2020 with the blacked out bits and golden forks looks gorgeous and it will make the ideal replacement for my 14 year old Pulsar 150

I've had my eye on this for a couple of years too.

This would still be a great bike for the money even if they charge 10,000 over the earlier price.

It's a DOHC, 4 valve, liquid cooled engine. So, it revs!

People may think it's down on horsepower compared to the BMW\TVS 310s. But this is really a 286cc engine compared to their 313s. Only concern would be the chances of horsepower going down with BS6. I mean I remember reading somewhere they already had to detune it from the international spec to comply with BS4 back when it was first launched.

But where Honda really trumps all other 250s and 300s in the market is they got this modern engine to fit into a package that, even with BS6 updates, will probably only be around 150 Kgs +\- a couple kilos.

And it's quite well behaved like a typical Honda. No twitchiness like Yamaha, KTM. People could call that boring, But I don't know. This kind of handling accommodates all kinds of riding moods and uses. It's far from boring for me.

If Suzuki didn't make the Gixxer 250 which suits me better, I'd be all over this one.

Now if they only threw this engine into an impulse like chassis and tuned it to get the torque curve to start earlier.

Honda already did that with the 2021 model CRF300L!!

So, rejoice and spam Honda's email with demands for bringing it to India.
