If RE is testing the bike so much, I am assuming there will be substantial mechanical changes and the engine mapping may also be different. Or is it some kind of marketing gimmick?

Visually similar, and mechanically the same as the Himalayan bike does not need so much testing.

re: Scram 411: Royal Enfield Himalayan's road-biased variant

411 Scram is a scrambler based on Himalayan, and Hunter is a scrambler based on Classic 350 - so we suddenly have two scramblers from RE?

re: Scram 411: Royal Enfield Himalayan's road-biased variant

RE should provide option of Alloy Wheels for this model.

Getting a flat tyre with spoke wheels is always a concern during long rides, away from town and, can spoil the excitement and joy of a road trip.

For off-road diehards, Himalayan is already there.

re: Scram 411: Royal Enfield Himalayan's road-biased variant

Yawn! Unless Royal Enfield has some major engine related changes up its sleeve, this looks like its going to be a boring product launch. A lot of Himalayan riders in Kerala are already riding their bikes without the OEM windshield, so this naked Himalayan / Scram 411 look is nothing new in the motorcycling scene.

Why isnt Royal Enfield testing the 650 based Scrambler, which they already showcased at EICMA in the past? Sigh!

re: Scram 411: Royal Enfield Himalayan's road-biased variant

Harshad Mehta had Scam 1992, RE has Sc(r)am 411! Second Neil, why aren't they pulling the trigger on more 650 platform based products?

The Scram appears to have a slightly smaller front wheel perhaps a 19-incher in place of the Himalayan's 21-incher. Ground clearance is at 200mm, is slightly lower than the Himalayan's 220mm.

re: Scram 411: Royal Enfield Himalayan's road-biased variant

Seriously RE? A wait for this, this seems a custom house's internship project!

Remove parts from the Himalayan and launch it. Every lane in Kerala, (mods own country) can pull out better versions. Only the "Signature Cast Metal Headlamp Cowl" seems to be an engineering output.

re: Scram 411: Royal Enfield Himalayan's road-biased variant

Only a mother can love what they have created. No one in history has ever rode any RE bikes and thought this needs to have less power. The j platform with the recent engines have been amazing and 650s are a dream, but this is real lazy RE.

The headlight is from the classic parts bin. Looks neither here nor there in my opinion.
