2022 KTM RC 390 teased, launch likely very soon.

Any of us checked with the dealers on when the 2022 RC390 is coming out in India !

There were reports of wheels cracking up on Indian roads on initial 390 Duke's and KTM beefed them up with more metal / weight. I believe this was only done for Indian market. Now with the wheels even lighter it is to be seen if they hold up to the demanding road conditions.

The initial ride reports of RC 200 looks promising. Planning to visit KTM showroom this weekend.

Any idea when RC 390 will be launched in India?

As per zigwheels, RC 390 is launching on 27th Jan.

People talk about Creta, i20 and Venue, well they may have polarising designs but some people do love them, they grow on others and some hate them, I can still get over that but they have absolutely massacred the perfectly sporty design of the RC series and I still can't get over this, it went from truly international to some Jugaad work by some Peera Garhi based customisation shop, can't believe how they managed to go so wrong with the styling which is an integral part of motorcycles.

Transplant Peera Garhi to Nana Peth or Karol Bagh or Grant Road ... The sentiment is universal.

Its the front end i think. Like the gap between the fairing and the front fender which makes it look a little sport tourerish.

But I saw the race faired version the other day on youtube. Looked pretty good.

That said otherwise its an upgrade from the current bike in all parameters.

I am waiting to put those wheels on my RC as soon as i can get them. Looks and function wise absolutely smashing.

Maybe there is something seriously wrong with me, and I won't be surprised if there is, but the new RC design doesn't look that bad.

Sure, it's no patch on the R7, Ducati supersport S or even the R15M but the busty fascia isn't worse than, say, the N300. I also like the integrated indicators and the windscreen that looks, at least to my jaundiced eyes, well put and more usable.

The additional user friendliness via the supposedly better seats, the larger tank, bigger radiator, adjustable handlebars, and adjustable suspension would make this, IMHO, a much more approachable motorcycle with a wider appeal.. and I like that in motorcycles.

Looks like the India-spec 2022 RC390 won’t come equipped with the adjustable front forks. Here’s a pic of the RC390 from the KTM India’s website:

The headlight shape and the upright curvy slope of the front cowl and windshield is what makes it look hideous bro.

It looks a lot like that new Karizma that Hero launched on its own after breaking off from Honda.

Visited the KTM stall they have put up at The Forum Mall, Koramangala. They’re the BTM KTM folks.

I was pleasantly surprised upon seeing the RC 200 in flesh, up close and personal (for the second time, but properly this time).

Loved the ergonomics, found it to be perfect for me. The pegs were slightly more rear set than my Gixxer SF though (normal KTM trademark anyway). Attaching a couple pictures. I’m 6 feet 2 inches, for reference. My old man, who’s around 5’9, was relatively comfortable too.





KTM has nailed this almost! The looks grow on you, though they’re not as sharp as the previous generation RC. The suspension was soft and bouncy! More so than the Gixxer 155! Even the seat was soft. The bloke had no clue when I asked him whether the suspension was set to the softest setting or the stock setting itself was so softly sprung; he nodded yes for both.

I’ll comment more once I get to take a proper test ride of this bike. But as of now, I’d claim that KTM has got a winner in its hands.
