KTM has finally taken the wraps off their 2022 RC 125 and RC390 motorcycles.

The 2022 KTM RC models now come with a revised front-end with a larger look, which not only gives the bikes more presence but also provides the rider with better wind and weather protection. The RC models also feature a new LED headlamp unit with integrated turn indicators.



The side and rear profiles receive minimal updates. The 2022 KTM RC features split seats, with the rear seat said to offer better cushioning for pillion comfort. KTM has also increased the fuel tank capacity to 13.7-litres, offering better range between fill-ups. Apart from the above changes, both the 2022 KTM RC125 and RC 390 come with updated body graphics and paint schemes.



Both, the 2022 KTM RC 390 and the RC 125 carry forward the same engines as before. However, KTM is said to have reworked both of them, offering better torque figures. The 2022 KTM RC 390 is also said to have received a new engine mapping for better rideability.



KTM has also redesigned the trellis frame on the 2022 RC models, which along with the new wheels and brakes has reduced the overall weight by up to 4.4 kg. The 2022 KTM RC 390 now has a dry weight of 155 kg.

The 2022 KTM RC 390 now comes with a fully adjustable suspension setup at both ends. KTM has also fitted the 2022 RC 390 with supermoto ABS with its disc brakes at either end. It also features cornering ABS, lean-angle traction control and an optional bi-directional quick-shifter.



Both, the RC 390 and the RC 125 now come with a 5-inch TFT display with Bluetooth connectivity and music streaming via KTM's MyRide app.

The 2022 KTM RC range is expected to enter the Indian market very soon. While prices of the new model are yet to be announced, we can expect a premium of around Rs 15,000 over the current versions.

Hope India doesn't get the third world treatment in the suspension department for the RC390 , the way ADV 390 got a raw deal.

Looks ugly to my eyes. The previous generation was a timeless smarter looking machine. The manufacturer could have just updated the mechanicals without touching the aesthetics. At least, a different paint and stickering would have helped. For those looking for an upgrade, the RC brand won't be an aspirational purchase from the heart anymore!

With the same power and a 2 Nm increase in torque, peak torque should arrive at least 350 rpm sooner. Thanks to the 4.4kg weight reduction, lean-sensitive traction control, and updated engine mapping, the new RC should be an outstanding track machine.

I understand that the style may not be to everyone's liking, but take a look at the lean angle that the individual in the photos carries. Doesn't it make you want to get on it as soon as possible?

Some details of the RC 125 have leaked.

It will have the same 14.5hp, 124.71cc liquid-cooled engine but its wheelbase has gone up by 6mm to 1347mm, but the overall length has come down by 12mm to 1965mm.

I think looks can be bought into.
The changes that can make a crucial difference in the buying decision would be, IMHO:
1) bigger fuel tank
2) adjustable handlebars
3) adjustable suspension
4) better heat management

The 2022 KTM RC 200 has been launched in India at Rs 2.09 lakh.



The RC 200 continues to draw power from a 199.5cc liquid-cooled unit. It pumps out the same 25.8PS but torque has marginally increased to 19.5Nm by 0.3Nm.

The 2022 RC 125 at Rs 1.82 lakh (ex-showroom).



The RC 125 also carries forward its 124cc, single-cylinder engine, which puts out 14.9PS and 12Nm.

I think the outgoing models are also similarly priced. Is it that there is less or no increase to the existing price for the RC models? if that is the case, given the new features and capability added, should I assume the existing model is overpriced?

Is that for both the vehicles ? because that's amazing if they have kept it light even though the fuel tank and bodywork has gone up. It will be interesting to see how this 3.3kg has affected the performance of the 125. The first gen was painfully dull.

So buying prev gen RC now makes more sense thing because the old models look better IMO. So edgy and menacing. This one is quite toned down and borderline goofy.

The fact that overall weight has gone down (both sprung and unsprung), tank capacity has gone up and the handlebars are now adjustable, makes the new gen RC much more appealing in my opinion.
