Nice. I am interested in one as the reliability would be better. Would this be having twin spark technology similar to Thunder Bird?

What are the advantages of UCE over a normal one other than reliability?

Auto Decomp @ 250rpm - so no more decomp
No Sprag Clutch issue since the starter is mounted on the inner side of the engine
Integrated Gearbox
Lower NVH (Noise Vibration Harshness)
Auto Adjusting Hydraulic Pushrods for optimal valve timing
6 plate clutch
Rotary oil pump
Better Fuel Average
Better Sustainable WOT (Wide Open Throttle)
Higher BHP

These are some of the key features of the New UCE (Unit Construction Engine)

I guess the UCE coming to india will not sound the same, since someone said we are only getting the carbed version. That would imply the presence of a cat-con in the exhaust to meet emission norms. Although I am sure people will be sourcing non-cat-con silencers for their UCE's in no time

i think the machismo 500 uce definately looks like an upgrade over the current 500lb, although i still feel enfield might give it some time before heading the efi way in india, if it gets a possitive response abroad then im quite hopeful royal enfield will introduce these bikes in india.

Hi guys,

After reading so many posts about Bullet, I felt like sharing my own short experience. I used a Thunderbird 350 for around 8 months in Bombay during 2006-07. The highest speed I ever did on that bike was around 110 kmph. I'm sharing this because the highest achievable speed on Bullet was being discussed some time back on this thread. I did this within the Bombay city limits and never took this bike out on a proper highway. To be very specific, I was running at 110 either on my way from Powai to Bandra or Powai to Vashi as I never did any other routes.

An old Bullet hand, who used it for 15 years, has told me that the max he did with his bike was 117 kmph. So, I wasn't too far from maxing out my Bullet, I guess. I'll never know the absolute truth as for that to happen I need to ride a Bullet on the highway some time. But placing my faith in the old-timer, my guess would be that the speed of the Thunderbird 350 would have maxed out at around 116-120 kmph. Now, how much faster the AVL 500 could go would be anybody's guess but I would bet at the range of 125-128 kmph.

Regards

I was invited by RE to test ride the new UCE bike a coule of months back. I did open a thread but was closed by the mods thinking it was similar to the Classic EFI thread. Well the bike was a look alike of the Classic EFI but had the new UCE twinspark engine the same one being used on the new Thunderbird. A 500 CC with UCE and twinspark will be a great bike to ride. I was planning to sell my 350CC and get a Mach 500 but I think I will wait for some time now. You can check my review of the bike here ( Ride to NIRVANA on two wheels.: June 2009 )
