Making a plate is a 5 minute job. They have the plates & letters, and just have to arrange the numbers/letters and then press the plate. I think you can even get the new style done - where the first letter of the series is on top line & the second letter is on second line.

In the pic you posted, for KA41ER4547, you should be able to get KA41E on first line and R4547 on second. Just that, the chassis number cant be put below that "IND"

At the shops, you can also ask for blue color letters or plain black. They have the option to use different colored films for the letter during embossing.

Are these HSRP plates? They would come with a serial number. I thought you can only order them from authorised service providers. I unsuccessfully tried to get HSRP for my old car and finally settled for a normal IND (embossed) number plate.

Thanks, just checked with a local shop and he agreed for Rs 500 for plate + fixing, so going ahead with that.

I went to this shop in IndiraNagar and asked for HSRP. He was able to provide me the same with transparent transport windshield sticker within a day.
Though the only negative was that he didn't have HSRP screw. He used normal screws to fix the plates.

Don't the vehicle inspector notice that you are not using HSRP ?
I thought they will make HSRP mandatory for FC renewal.

Today I got the HSRP fixed on my RE INT650 by CVS (Avahan) motors, Kalyan nagar, BLR.

The plate was purchased through https://getmyhsrp.com/ or SHIMNIT.
It was only a 10-15 mins job in the morning.

After reaching home I received a call from someone claiming to be from SHIMNIT.
He asked me to share pictures of my installed number plates to a WhatsApp number for confirmation.

No, the vehicle inspector didn't have any issues with it and my FC was issued. Not sure, it may be because my FC renewal was done through an agent.

I had ordered HSRP and they didn’t have technicians to fit it. They gave the plates to m and asked me to send pics after affixing it along with a pic of chassis number.

This was the dealer. They said they have to update the pics (or info) to the VAHAN portal.
