The dealer event also had a new Hero Xtreme 160R Stealth Edition on display. This bike is likely to flaunt only cosmetic updates.

Re: Hero teases small adventure bike. EDIT: It's the XPulse 200

The news of the 4V is welcome as it will make the Xpulse a more rounded machine. Interestingly Hero has also been raising prices through frequent GPIs (general price increase). This means that the shock of the price jump or delta from 2V variant to 4V will be better accepted in the market. Frankly it will help Hero sell the new Xpulse with healthy profits & also create a margin buffer to give discounts to liquidate current stocks in near future.
I compiled the price history for reference as below.

Hero it seems has analysed the Honda CB200X market response & with the lack of serious competitors, may feel confident to price the 4V higher. The VFM factor won't be as sweet as it was for the previous Xpulse.
In Bangalore, the local dealer says the launch is only in Jan'22 but I take that info with a bucket load of salt. Also as of now there are no offers on current gen model (Diwali maybe ??)

Re: Hero teases small adventure bike. EDIT: It's the XPulse 200

The way the bike is showcased, the launch looks imminent. Diwali launch seems reasonable.

I suppose a 1.4L ex-showroom price is to be expected without the rally kit. Considering there is no other bike with this capability in this price range, it will work for Hero.

I had hoped for an updated headlight and seat. That is not the case from what I can see.

Re: Hero teases small adventure bike. EDIT: It's the XPulse 200

What a welcome update for the XPulse! I hope this helps a lot in making that powerband more even. I own a BS6 XPulse and I've always felt that the bottom end is quite underwhelming. I may be wrong but this was the first vehicle I've driven which screams the need for some form of variable valve timing. I hope they sort out or at least curb the powerband issue to some extent with this update

Yes, the updated Xpulse 200 should be launched soon. Official teasers have been released, too. I believe Hero MotoCorp might introduce it much earlier than Diwali. I wouldn't be surprised if the new model comes out this week itself. Apart from the Xpulse 200 4V, Hero MotoCorp is also expected to implement the 4-valve tech in its other products such as the Xtreme 160R.

True, the stock LED headlamp of the current Xpulse 200 needs to be worked upon to function better.

Re: Hero teases small adventure bike. EDIT: It's the XPulse 200

This Is interesting. Would it be correct to assume that a simple cylinder head swap along with an ECU remap would suffice to upgrade existing 2V bikes to the new spec?

Best,
Kshitij

Re: Hero teases small adventure bike. EDIT: It's the XPulse 200

Current Bs6 Xpulse owners, what’s the highway cruising speed for the 2V bike? 80/90kph?

Wondering if the 4V iteration can better it to get a smoother 100kph cruising speed. A 6th gear along with that would be sweet. Expecting too much?

Even I am interested to get the 4 Valve head upgrade along with a ECU tune if it's possible. But from the photos that have surfaced online, there's a pipe connected to the engine block. I checked with my SVC, and they are not yet sure about the changes. The pipe to the block means block cooling which again would require liquid cooling, which I doubt would be available as oil cooling is enough for this.

For BS6 2V cruising speed is 80kmph @ 5500rpm and 90kmph @ 6500rpm. Anything above that strains the engine. If they can increase it to 100kmph @ 6000rpm, it would be great.

Re: Hero teases small adventure bike. EDIT: It's the XPulse 200

The Xpulse 200 is a great motorcycle with a wide range of capabilities. It can tackle off-road, can cruise at 80kmph all day long and do daily commutes rather well. The price tag is also really attractive when one considers it's abilities. Stronger high rpm performance with the 4V setup will make it even more attractive. However, the 4V setup is known for its lack of low end poke. 4V setup might end up being a bane rather than a boon. A motorcycle like the Xpulse 200 with off-road capabilities needs to be more torquey in the low rpm zone rather than a high rpm performer. Anyways, it will be really interesting to see how the final product turns out. I hope they don't mess up what is already sorted.

I suppose it varies by dealer. I was able to get just the extended gear lever at my local dealer but then again, I have had a good rapport with the sales manager.

We're yet to get the 4V motorcycles. Moreover with the festive rush I don't think I'll have the TD Bike to open up for experimentation as of now. Probably when I get my second lot in November I'll be able to get a TD bike allocated and check it properly.

Also since the festive rush is here I won't have time either to study and compare the exploded views of the bikes. Lets get back to this once the TD bike is here and we have adequate time to check and experiment on it.

That would be nice if the upgrade can be done. Would be eagerly waiting for your update.
