Re: Hero teases small adventure bike. EDIT: It's the XPulse 200

What happened to the launch, I thought it was launching today. I am keenly following this, I am kind of liking the off road biking, and have a track near my house as well. Closely following the 4V might pick it for some fun in dirt.

Re: Hero teases small adventure bike. EDIT: It's the XPulse 200

All those teasers on social media for a 5 minute long canned video. Not that I mind though.

Apart from the 4V head and more power, the bike apparently gets:

-3 new color schemes

-bit brighter headlights

-redesigned brake pedal

-redesigned seat profile, possibly flatter

for around 7k increase in price.

No price details on the rally edition.

Edit: Looks like rally kit price has gone up:

CB 200X also has similar challenges at highway speeds, don't think it is better than the Xpulse.

Possibly the mid range might be smarter since it has lower body weight.

Pretty good video, even earlier best speed for CB200 was 70 kmph without vibrations, its nothing but city commuter trying to look like Adv.

Pretty interested to pick this one, big rock park is not too far from home and this will be lot of fun at that track. Will go take a TD soon.

Hero MotoCorp has launched the new XPulse 200 4V priced at ₹ 1.28 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). The Hero XPulse 200 4V brings four-valve technology to the entry-level adventure motorcycle along with a host of other upgrades as part of the update. The 199.6 cc single-cylinder, oil-cooled engine now gets a four-valve head with 18.8 bhp at 8,500 rpm and 17.35 Nm of peak torque at 6,500 rpm. In comparison, the two-valve version of the same engine developed 17.8 bhp and 16.45 Nm of peak torque. Power has gone up by six per cent and torque by five per cent.

re: Hero XPulse 200 4V launched in India at Rs. 1.28 lakh

Would the sales and features be so affected if they had also increased the engine to say a 250cc one? Going from 2valve to 4valve is not a big difference that would be noticed (5% to 6% is not a differentiator on a small capacity motorcycle). Color scheme and all is typical Hero.

Nevertheless, this is a fill and shut it kind of motorcycle on any terrain.

Hope this is available for existing Xpulse 200 users as well as a replacement option. The current Headlight is a weak point of the bike.

There is another Hero ADV coming with a 300~ cc engine. So for Hero it makes sense to improve the engine rather than increase the cc. While it is a good engine it is still plagued with problems such as overheating and so on.

Re: Hero teases small adventure bike. EDIT: It's the XPulse 200

My few cents on the 4V

Kudos to Hero for showcasing their racers CS Santosh, Sathya and Yuva on their launch video.

I own a bs4 FI Xpulse, her engine was her weak spot especially on higher revs. The 4V setup should remedy this. Although just a mere increase on 1bhp doesn't sound much anymore power is a welcome addition.

I am very curious to compare the fuel maps of 2v and 4v. Only if someone can help with that.

Few riders associated with development have confirmed the new v4 head can be retrofitted on the old 2v engine. I'll be placing the order soon at the service centre. I don't think it will be a cheap mod, but should not be very expensive as well.

The hero website still shows the 2v model instead of the new one.
I wish Hero had offered the Rally Kit version directly from the showroom, it would save on cost as well as reduce wastage. ( I am not sure if they have started doing that, the marketing video give some hint but nothing clearly)

It will be great if you can keep us updated on the swap, because if some of us wanted to go via used bike route and if we can swap to 4v head later its another viable option. Also I have registered for 4v test drive, not sure when the TD bikes will be available.

Apart from its sheer off-road capabilities, I believe that one of the main reasons why the Xpulse has become so popular is its price tag. Offering a 250cc engine would put to rest enthusiasts' "lack of power" woes, but it'd also bump up the price significantly. While some would welcome the bigger engine and be ready to pay the extra money, some wouldn't.

I think adding 2 more valves isn't a huge deal but the slight increment in power should help the Xpulse cruise at triple-digit speeds with more ease and, thus, improve the bike's cruising capabilities. Riders who like to tour would appreciate this change. Also, the increased torque would help in off-road scenarios. And the overall performance of the engine should be smoother.

Hero has also said that it has revised the gear ratios. It would be interesting to see what difference this makes.

I'm looking forward to swinging my leg over the new model soon!

re: Hero XPulse 200 4V launched in India at Rs. 1.28 lakh

The price released on 1st May, 2019 were

XPulse 200 FI ₹ 1.05 lakh
XPULSE 200 carb ₹ 97,000
XPulse 200T ₹ 94,000
Xtreme 200S ₹ 98,500

https://www.team-bhp.com/forum/motor...ml#post4582628 (Hero teases small adventure bike. EDIT: It's the XPulse 200)

It seems the price increase is more than 37% from the base model of 2019 XPulse 200T. From the costliest model, 200FI the increase is 22%. The prices have increased quite significantly. Hope it's worth it.
