Re: Royal Enfield Super Meteor 650cc, now unveiled

Finally after a long time (Last brought new bike was in 2009, Bajaj Pulsar 150) booked SM650, and SA said the delivery will be in April. I have booked Celestial Red now but would confirm the variant only after I see them directly. Hope the TD will not disappoint and the reviews are good.

Currently I am riding a Thunderbird Twinspark 2009 model which was brought in 2017 and been very happy with the cruiser enjoying every ride, so I hope this is going to be a proper upgrade.

Re: Royal Enfield Super Meteor 650cc, now unveiled

Well, my supermeteor aspirations went for a toss. I had booked an Interceptor 650 chrome 2 on 9 th January. When the Supermeteor launch happened, I wrote to Royal Enfield asking whether I could transfer the booking to a Supermeteor which they politely and rightly refused. The very next day, a gentleman from RE called and said he would speak to the dealer. The dealer called and said transfer was possible and asked which color I wanted and i told him that i wanted the Astral Green. This was on the 17 th of January. After no updates for 10 days, the dealer called yesterday (27/01) and passed on the good news that my Interceptor had arrived at the showroom. I went over, did the Pdi, and paid the balance that was due. I am taking delivery of the bike today. Shall update delivery happenings later. A 10 day period of confusion between the interceptor and the Supermeteor was put to rest!Attatching pictures of the bike on first look and screenshot of Royal Enfield app showing booking status progression

My first reaction to this update is: may be it is a blessing in disguise. Don't ask me why, just a strong feeling. Yeah, I've been following your posts for the last few days/weeks on RE and Honda threads; not intentionally though

Enjoy your new ride sir!

I honestly felt so myself. Guess these things happen as they are destined to happen. All for the best!

Service cost should remain similar with twins. This however is interesting.

That’s because the technician needs to remove the left exhaust in order to take off the wheel.

Re: Royal Enfield Super Meteor 650cc, now unveiled

Booked Interstellar SM650 in green color yesterday. I was told the waiting period is 3 months for Astral and Interstellar while it is 4 months for the touring variant. Was also told that the test rides will start from Feb 1st week and I will be called.

In the booking receipt, the tentative delivery date has been given as 17th Aug though. Hopefully it won't be that long.

Re: Royal Enfield Super Meteor 650cc, now unveiled

Visited showroom yesterday for a quick look and understand the delivery schedule. No update on actual delivery date in the showroom or the app. It just shows as booking accepted. Waiting for test ride in first week of Feb. That said, bike looks beautiful in person and engine sound is awesome. It is on the heavier side but very well planted.

Showroom staff shared accessory details - https://player.flipsnack.com/?hash=N...1674046870&p=1. I am considering compact crash guard, engine guard, LED indicators and touring seat with backrest. This itself will set me back by Rs. 24200. Will evaluate other things post some riding experience.

Thanks for the link. Even I am planning to get the touring seats, pillion back pads,LED indicators, Sump guard, rider deluxe foot pegs and the airfly evo engine guard(worried whether the compact guard would be useful for the heavy machine should there be any mishaps). The RE app is showing a 10% bulk discount on the accessories as well.

No one has a definite update on deliveries. Some even has an update in Re app track your order saying that the vehicle has reached the dealership a week back. May be a glitch in the system. BHPian traveller was also getting similar update and promised delivery by end of January if my memory serves right.

Re: Royal Enfield Super Meteor 650cc, now unveiled

This is perhaps the most expensive in Hyderabad. The basic version is coming at 4.22 L and can go upto 4.32 lakhs with only the crash guards. The tourer version stands at nearly 4 7L. The cost gets escalated because of the road tax and the 5 years insurance bundled in.

In Assam I hear this could cost 50-60K cheaper, Delhi is atleast 30-40K cheaper, Chennai is atleast 15-25 K cheaper. Don't know about Bangalore!

Regards
Bharath

Kerala OTR for the base model without any accessory is 4.44L. The road tax itself is almost 74K.

Agree. My reason for compact is my riding preferences and flexibility to navigate/park in tight spaces. That said, will evaluate again when I get a test ride.

Called up RE support/helpline - they don't have any insight either. They are repeating the same information visible on the app. If some BHP'ians have better visibility on delivery dates, it will be good to know the specifics - would chase up dealership to get clarity.

Attaching Hyderabad pricing. Roadtax and insurance are making big dent compared to Chennai!

And unsure why I am being charged for a welcome kit! Defeats the purpose of feeling 'welcomed' .

If you already have one vehicle, road tax will be 14% in Telangana. Your sheet has 12% road tax, add 2% more if you have another vehicle
