Congratulations soumobakshi. Can you please tell how the vehicle is invoiced and subsidy is given. It'd be great if you can share the image of the invoice (of course with your personal details hidden). |
Thank You!
Attaching the Invoices for better clarity.
1) Invoice for the Vehicle, which shows the FAME subsidy.
2) Invoice for the Charger, amount included in the overall payment.
Feel free to ask in case you want any further clarity.

Thank you very much. This makes it clear.
So, you've paid ₹1,03,999/- for scooter S1 ad ₹9,000 for the charger, RTO & handling charges and insurance above this. The only thing you've not paid is the ₹17,000 for the performance pack.
Makes sense...Ola will give S1 customers an option to upgrade to S1pro even after the vehicle delivery but they have to pay ₹30,000 for that performance upgrade. If someone books S1pro even before delivery, then they would've essentially paid only ₹17,000 for that performance upgrade.
Technically, ola is selling with 4kwhr battery. Hence they get 4kwhr subsidy.
Ola has silently opened the payment portal for those who paid the token advance of 20k. I have just completed making the payment for my S1 Pro. Initially, I was under the impression that booking would start by 6 pm, but I guess they have opened it without much fanfare for few (it could also be a lapse from their IT team).
I have a paid 499 for earlier reservation.
I was hoping that I will be able to pay 20000 and go to next step. For me nothing is showing on olaelectric.com...Any thoughts?
To my knowledge, the payment links were made active for those who had their delivery schedule listed in the app as Jan/Feb. With the production numbers hitting 1000/day, you should be receiving notification pretty soon.

Oops no, the total Amount; all included I paid is ₹1,09,689/- (Scooter Reservation: ₹499 on 16th July'21 + Advance Amount ₹20000 on 15th Sep'21 + ₹89190 on 12th Nov'21)
In case I want the Performance Pack, i will have to Pay 30k, if I decide to get.

I don't understand this. You paid Rs 9000 for charger. Where as i paid Rs 2359 for the charger here in Pune. Why so much difference?

You paid Rs 2359 for the charger installation, not the charger.

No that's got me confused! Just the two invoices you've shared adds up to ₹1,12,999. The registration fees and insurance is not included in this. But you say you paid ₹1,09,689 all included. What am I missing here?
The one important accessory that's missing is a foot-rest for the women. A lot of Indian women sit one-sided.
Is anyone aware of an aftermarket fitment for this?

Some pillions use the foot rest as a step to climb upon, to reach the top of the seat. That time they put their weight on the foot rest. Hence the foot rest is always fitted to the scooter chasis; it is bolted.
So unless the manufacturer has made a provision (on the chassis) for mounting the foot rest, it cannot be added afterwards (without drilling the chassis, which is illegal too).

Sadly, these are the really bad things about OLA. A company that claims empowerment of women, women-only factory totally ignores all ladies wearing saree as the second rider for their scooter. What good a scooter is, if you cannot take your mother or grandmother or someone wearing a saree for a ride to hospital or temple or someplace? Without foot rest, it is dangerous to ride a scooter Period.
On the mechanical side, aftermarket fitments are dangerous for these new vehicles. For activa, access, its ok as these are well-established paroducts.
Remember, people will put their whole weight on this. This must be securely placed, fastened onto a structure WHICH CAN WITHSTAND THE WHOLE WEIGHT IF NECESSARY. If this detaches for some reason while driving, the person keeping feet and balancing while keeping their feet may simply FALL from scooter, due to sudden removal of support.
This fitment may look simple, but trust me, unless OLA has made express provisions to support the whole weight and holes to fasten the footrest, it will be a difficult task even for after-market people.
Had it been ICE bike, I would have said, just weld it. These scooters are all with delicate plastic body items and now with 50+ volts battery and wires and electric motors and electronic controller. Days of welding are pretty much gone with these news scooters.
Ola Electric is now valued more than TVS Motors. In the latest funding round, Ola Electric has raised $200 million (Rs 1,490 crores) valuing the electric vehicle maker at $5 billion (Rs 37,293 crores).

TVS motors currently has a market cap of Rs 29,507 crores.
With most of the new startups, valuation is mostly on the market potential than the current situation.
If they get their production issues resolved they definitely have the potential to disrupt the market and a valuation higher than TVS seems fine in my opinion.
