re: Suzuki Avenis scooter, launched at Rs. 86,700

Live event telecast of Suzuki Avenis :

This is NOT an electric scooter. So its another ICE scooter in suzuki lineup.

Prices (ex-showroom Delhi)

Avenis Ride Connect Edition: Rs. 86,700 /-
Avenis Race Edition : Rs. 87,000 /-

I really wonder what that 300 rupees going to make a difference for a customer purchasing the scooter.

re: Suzuki Avenis scooter, launched at Rs. 86,700

Thank god, I didn't wait for this one and went ahead with Burgman.
From every angle this looks like a copy cat of NTorq. Really sad to see a company like Suzuki coming up with this.

What is happening with these Japanese companies :(
Toyota --> ripping designs/products from Suzuki for 4 wheelers
Suzuki --> Seems to have done one from TVS now :P

thanks

Wow! This is a copy of an NTorq.

is there a chance of TVS suing Suzuki on copying their design?

I always felt the launch would be an IC scooter. Suzuki does not seem to be keen on EV's yet. They will be 'stylishly late' to the EV party.

re: Suzuki Avenis scooter, launched at Rs. 86,700

INR 300 extra for factory sticker work, I guess it's cheaper for the whole body wrap with no-void of warranty

Come on Suzuki, believed you were going to target S1 with clean software with all those testing running almost an year. My bad to have high hopes, thanks for putting tab on that. Why even bother yet another body work?

Hope you guys didn't go corporate day outing with Maruti Suzuki to learn about increasing the market share and got the "Gyan" "re-use the hardware" as marketing team already copied Mileage USP.

Learn from the Market, Hero upgraded to 4v, Yamaha for Aerox. TVS trend setting on offering more features on their products. Honda on silent starter motor.

Who expected RE to let go the thump to chose the smoothest ride without much change to body panels. No offence here, RE guys worked day in and out even during pandemic to maintain the looks but changing the frame to engine.

All the very best for cannibalizing your own product.

Meh. Not great, not terrible.
Comrade Dyatlov would be proud. An ionizing beacon of Suzuki's mediocrity.

Looks like Ntorq. And who is a fan of those dangling turn indicators on a scooter which usually just flap like a bird's wings when riding over bad roads.

I really expected a bigger and better Burgman or that EV.

Also, not a fan of the name.

Person 1: Hey I am riding avenis.
Person 2: You are riding a what!?
Person 1: A-Venis.

Person 2: Cool! That's a great addition to your garage along with that particular car.
Person 1: Skoda Laura?
Person 2: Yep! Glad they didn't release a Rider version of it.

re: Suzuki Avenis scooter, launched at Rs. 86,700

Atleast a different tyre spec with something like i3s or the one yamaha has did in rayzR, would have given some reason to think avenis as an option other than going for access or burgman.

Slightly OT, I once used to regret TVS decision of coming out of partnership with Suzuki. But seeing this and what TVS have come up with last few years I think they did the right thing to come out of Suzuki alliance. I wish Suzuki just stick to their breed of gixxers, access, burgman which are unique offering in each segment.

No, but because of this one rehash I will not decrease my respect quotient towards the Suzuki. I hope they bring in new flavour to their lineup in next launches.

Shame on Suzuki! Build all expectations, project the launch as something pathbreaking and what do we get, another damp squib launch. Never thought we would see the day when Suzuki would copy TVS 👎

Access 125, copied to Burgman, transferred to Avenis and sold as a big thing for generation Z

Cheers

Re: New Suzuki scooter teased, to launch on November 18. EDIT: Launched as Suzuki Avenis at Rs. 86,7

Not sure what Suzuki aims to gain by shamelessly copying NToRQ. Even if a few buy this, it will probably give more visibility to the NToRQ brand.

Also this comes with a 12 inch wheel at front , 10 inch at rear while the NToRQ comes with 12 inch wheels at both ends. Not sure what sort of market research drove this decision from Suzuki.

What is up with Suzuki and low powered ugly motorcycles (compared to their competitors)??

Even the Gixxer series (150cc) is underpowered. Now this….wow.

Re: New Suzuki scooter teased, to launch on November 18. EDIT: Launched as Suzuki Avenis at Rs. 86,7

A dash of NTORQ, tinge of Grazia and the goodies of the Suzuki 125 motor and the result is this. This scooter I personally opine will have decent takers, but it all boils down to how well the initial reception turns out to be. I personally regard this as Suzuki's mea culpa albeit in a glorified manner. Let's see how the market reacts to this.

Cheers!

I noticed the instrument panel on this scooter looks the same as that on the Gixxers. Does that mean bluetooth enabled gixxers coming soon?

You don't go to suzuki, scooters or bikes, for top spec power and doodads. You go to them for well thought out everyday usability and practicality, and top notch build quality.

I'll go a bit OT here. My friend, comparing numbers on a spec sheet is not the end of things.

Your gixxer is not underpowered. It's making power more or less par for the hardware on it. Basically, the other bikes in the segment make more power because of slightly higher displacements and the use of oil cooling. They also make peak power at higher RPMs than the gixxer. The FZ15 looks underpowered because it's got even lower displacement than the gixxer and makes peak power at even lower RPMs. If you tuned them all to make power at the same RPM, they'd be looking much closer spaced.

And that's not the end of the story. These horses need to be put to the wheels for you to use them...

But let me save you the trouble of reading by saying: Let's not kid ourselves thinking a couple horses here and there are going to make any big difference to everyday riding on the streets, for bikes or scooters.
