Suzuki Avenis scooter, launched at Rs. 86,700

Suzuki is preparing to launch a new scooter in India on November 18, 2021. The company has shared a teaser of the same on its social media channels.

As per the teaser video, the new Suzuki scooter will feature a sporty styling. It will have a single-piece headlamp that is likely to be an LED unit. There will be LED daytime running lights as well.

Apart from that, the new Suzuki scooter will also have halogen turn indicators, dual taillamps, a small visor and a fully digital instrument cluster.

Some of the expected features of Suzuki's upcoming scooter include alloy wheels, front disc brake, large under-seat storage, USB charging port, Bluetooth connectivity and dual-tone colours.

It is being speculated that this scooter could use the same 124cc, single-cylinder engine that powers the Suzuki Access 125 and Burgman Street. This engine is capable of producing 8.5 BHP and 10 Nm.

Instead of producing 485 models and variations out of the same 125 / 110 cc engine, I wish these mainstream scooter companies would bring some genuine variety to their scooter lineups.

How about a Burgman 200 for instance (or whatever else their maxi scooter capacity is).

Their highest capacity burgman (AFAIK) is to be a 650cc one. FortNine had done a brilliant yet humorous review on it.

For your viewing pleasure.

I think "THIS" is the Electric Version of Burgman with different body panels.
That electric bolt like logo in More kind of gives a hint.

Also they might be just as well testing the same with the body panels of Burgman.

Let's see what they actually launch.

I think it is not an electric scooter as the exhaust can be clearly seen in the video.

Don't think it is an electric scooter. Pause at the 5th second, you can see a hole which looks like an exhaust port. Sharing the screenshot (edited it using GPhotos)

That's not a exhaust. Check this https://www.team-bhp.com/forum/motor...ter-spied.html (Suzuki Burgman-based electric scooter spied)

Good catch. I think that is quite likely. Suzuki was expected to announce this sometime very soon. And its been doing the rounds on testing too. Unfortunately i don’t think the specs are anything spectacular for this. I wasn’t expecting this to be shaking the market but post the S1 debacle of a launch everything else is welcome at this point.

Yes I’ve seen this video before. Its INCREDIBLY funny even by Fortnine’s already high standards.

Autocar says NTorq rival but it looks too much like an NTorq for me especially the rear.

Suzuki India has released a teaser of its upcoming scooter that's targeted at the youth. It is likely to be a youthful, sporty version of the Suzuki Access 125 and Burgman Street 125.

It’s a sporty new Suzuki scooter

Expected to be based on the Access 125 platform

To go up against the TVS Ntorq 125

So on the spy shots in the other thread, the electric version has the red start button on the right handle bar facing the top, where as this one has the red engine start button on the same location as a regular burgman. So its mostly ice powered scooter.

Yes this seems more and more likely as an ICE offering only.

Let’s see when they launch the EV Burgman. That’ll be an interesting one to watch for. Ola has already whetted a Biryani size EV appetite and delivered a small piece of sushi instead. Good time for established brands to dive in to plug the disappointment.

re: Suzuki Avenis scooter, launched at Rs. 86,700

Just took delivery of my Burgman Street Matt Black yesterday and then i see this

Anyways, Burgman and Ntorq was really a heart vs mind decision. The relaxed driving position available in Burgman sealed the deal.

Hopefully this new one will offer that too

Thanks

Why does it feel like another Dio in the making!
No offense to Dio owners, but I do feel a bit intimidated when a Dio pulls up close. Maybe driving in Madras has something to do with it. 'Pullingo' culture and Dio scooters are widely identifiable here.

Its more irritating than intimidating to be fair

Hope this doesnt turn out such. Would have been nice if Suzuki gave more power. But not many manufacturers are doing that now except for Yamaha.
Lets see how this unfolds.

thanks
