Re: How many bikers in here and what do you ride?

1992 - End-filed Machismo 350 - hate it to the bottom of my heart. Plagued with issues.
sold after 7 years. Moved abroad. Since modified got 45k.
Back after 10 years and bought,
2008 - End-filed 500 - I should be in an asylum for going and buying this lump of metal, after a previous ownership experience. Thought 10 years is enough for RE to sort mechanical issues. NO. The issues started again. dumped it for 16k.
Enfield = End Filed
2009 - Pulsar 220 - at age 40, from '09 to '16 this bike keeps my heart rate high, keeps me grinning wide inside the lid, enjoying triple digit speeds and FAST motorcycling. Thank you BAJAJ.
Wife's Gift.

Re: How many bikers in here and what do you ride?

Here is my list of motorcycles.

1. Hero Honda CD100 (Rusting in Peace)
2. Hero Honda Passion (Going Great)
3. Hero Honda CBZ Xtreme (Sold)
4. Yezdi D250 Classic (Sold).
5. Royal Enfield Bullet (CI) ( Sold)
6. Roya Enfield Thunderbird (Sold)
7. Royal Enfield Classic 350 (Going great Since 2011).
8. Honda Activa (Going great since 2013)

I used to be a passionate rider before my accident in 2012. After one more accident (my marriage 2013), I had to stop riding my motorcycle for long distance. Now, I use my RE 350 for local commutes. However, that itch of riding will never go.

This one photograph, speaks it all about my passion for riding. Yes! I went for my marriage (barat) on my RE 350.

Re: How many bikers in here and what do you ride?

1989-1999 - Bought a 1988 Hero Honda CD100 - Supposed to be last batch of Japanese engines. Proved to be gem indeed. Did more than 200000km with routine maintenance only. Sold off to my mechanic who maintained it well till his death around 2010.

2002-2009 - Bajaj Pulsar 150 - Bought it just for love of biking again and didn't do any justice to it. Hardly did 20000km during the time I had it and yet loved it.

2014 - Honda Aviator - Bought to beat the daily traffic nightmares on JVLR in Mumbai. Did the job as expected and now in use by my daughter.

2016 - Bajaj Avenger Street 220 - My current ride - Bought just for the love of cruising. Frankly it's just OK compared to smoothness of CD100 or raw power of Pulsar 150. But then I have mellowed down with age as well so serves my purpose of leisurely rides.

Re: How many bikers in here and what do you ride?

Nice to see this thread. Here's my 2-wheeled history

1. LML Trendy (1998-2000)- Yes my family actually bought one and this the scooter that popped the motorised two wheeler cherry at a tender age of 14.

2. Bajaj Sunny Spice (2000-2006) - Time for an upgrade from the Trendy days. Absolutely loved this scooter for it's looks and performance. Served me and my family well for 6 years.

3. LML Adreno (2001-2012)- Yes it's an LML again that introduced me to the world of geared two wheelers. My first real bike; and if I'm not wrong the first that came with electric start and disc brake too and a 3 valve head. My trusty steed during most of my college days. Dad loved this bike so much it ran trouble free till the end. However due to spares and LML shutting shop pretty much in most of India, we let it go with a heavy heart.

4. RE Thunderbird 350 (50th anniversary edition) (2006-2010)- Towards the middle of college life, time came to move on to something bigger and more powerful. This bike thought me a lot about the mechanisms of a motorcycle and their maintenance. Had a good time even modifying the bars and even playing around with different carbs. Although bulls were and are notorious for their maintenance, I found them to be quite reliable, though not very pocket friendly. Still managed with my student allowance and later my first job. Managed to go on most road trips on this ride. Will always remember this bike as it was very special and close to my heart. Sadly this had to go for I went abroad in 2010.

5. TVS Apache RTR160 (2008-2008) - Very short lived stint with this bike. My whole family - Dad, Brother, Sister - rides so I was quite blown away by the performance of this machine. We got it for my younger brother but this had more maintenance issues than the Tbird. And we let it go within 6 months and vouched to stay from TVS. Never stepped into a TVS showroom after this brief ownership.

6. Yamaha FZ-16 (2009-2012) - This bike was an absolute gem. Loved using it whenever I didn't feel like taking out the Tbird. Younger brother loved it too and learnt his riding on this bike. Lucky bloke However as I was away in the states, the bike really didn't get the TLC it deserved. Though it didn't require a lot still the neglect was getting to the bike. And because of a nagging tyre issue, dad decided to sell it off.

7. Kawasaki Ninja 250R (2010 - current) - The reason my father decided to sell off all the other bikes to get this when I was away in the states Don't ride it much, but this bike is what a 250cc sports bike should be. We plan on keeping this for a long long time. It doesn't get much action these days, but it's a keeper.

8. KTM Duke 200 (pre-worshipped 2013-current) – Back from an unsuccessful stint in the states. Bruised and battered (I’m talking about myself). Being away from riding and learning the harsh realities of life’s struggles just took a toll. Had quite a good sum saved up and the first thing I did after returning, get a bike. The first time I rode this bike I absolutely fell in love with this. It awakened a spirit in me that I thought I never had. Was lucky to get one which had done only 2k kms for a steal. Another USA prospect was going abroad in my extended friend circle and he just wanted to get rid of it. I also remember he mentioned to me “Dude this bike will scare the pants off you!” Loved it but my wife later hated it. Now being used by my brother after he decided to get back to biking for commuting in the city atleast due to the horrible traffic in Chennai these days.

9. RE Thunderbird 350 (2013 Editiion - pre-worshipped 2014 - current): Dad decided he wanted a Bullet and loved the new Thunderbird 350 when it came. Luckily another states prospect was willing to get rid of his for going aborad and my dad sweeped in and picked it. Again haven't ridden it much. It's a fine tourer, Dad and sis loved it more. So they ride it now.

10. Yamaha FZ25 (2018-current) - My absolute pride and joy. Have been saving up for a ride since 2016 since the wifey absolutely hated going pillion on the Duke. And I don't blame her either. Something was not clicking, maybe it's maturity (growing older ) but decided it was time to move on. Was eagerly waiting for the BMW G310R to launch in 2017 and was ready to get my own first new bike. The strongest contender was the Dominar then; as BMW kept flip-flopping about launch. However after back to back to rides between the Dominar and Yamaha solo and pillion, the Yammie won by a narrow margin. Will be starting an ownership thread soon.

Note To All & Mods: The above is just my experience and opinions stated are not meant to offend anyone. Cheers to you all and Ride safe !

Re: How many bikers in here and what do you ride?

Hi. I'm 19 and before I owned a bike all by myself, I just used to use my parents' rides.

2003 - Hero Honda Splendor+. Apparently the color was so rare that my dad's piece was the first one in entire of Hyderabad (Mody Motors).
2012 - Dad sold off the Splendor+ and had bought a Passion X Pro. Just a commuter. Nothing special.
2014 - Mom had bought a Hero Maestro. Pearl White. An amazing little machine. Mostly used for small runabouts, still going strong.
2020 - I had bought a pre-owned CBR 250R C-ABS model. Owing to the extensive CBR thread by @aargee, it's helped me at a lot of places. It's a quite large bike to somone upgrading from commuters. Has a real nice ride feel to it, a very rev-happy machine, quite comfortable for me.

I'll let the pics do the talking.

Re: How many bikers in here and what do you ride?

1994 Hero Honda CD100, got it while doing my graduation, used it for five years upto 1999, often used to take it on long rides, including weekly or fortnightly trips of 110km one way, from hostel to home and back. It was a really nice bike, comfortable, enough grunt for a single rider, and fuel efficient too, giving 75-80kmpl on highway rides.
1999 Hero Honda CBZ, first generation, it was a good bike, good pickup and handling, but there were a few glitches and niggles. First there was a weird noise from the engine, for which I had to make several trips to the service centre. At first they would not agree that there was any extra noise, as there were very few CBZ’s at that time, had to take another bike to show them that the noise was there. It was traced to a loose metal strip near the alternator inside the engine, which was fixed and the noise was gone. Then started the second ordeal, there was an oil leakage from the side of the cylinder head, which could never be treated, inspite of changing cylinder and head gaskets, chain tensioner gasket. Although the leakage was small, had to clean the engine, after 100 to 150 kms. So when I went to Meerut to do PG in 2003, parents didn’t allow me to take the bike, because of the heavy traffic on the Delhi Meerut road, which I used to cover frequently, instead I got a jellybean 2001 Zen LX mpfi, and what a pocket rocket it was. The cbz was sold off in 2003.
Coming to 2010 got a Honda Unicorn for city use, it was a good bike with no issues at all, but I don’t know why, I never found it comfortable for highway rides. It was very less used, and kept upto 2021.
September 1 2021, the Royal Enfield Classic 350 was reborn, took a test ride and immediately fell in love with it. It has always my dream to own a Royal Enfield, since my father sold his Bullet in early eighties. Inquired about the GunMetal Grey colour, it was available off the shelf, bought it the other day on 15th September. I have covered around 600km on it, mostly highway trips, it is a lovely machine, and really comfortable on the long rides. Will be using it leisure as well as work rides.
