TVS & BMW intend to co-develop electric two-wheelers

TVS Motor Company and BMW Group intend to co-develop electric two-wheelers. Both companies are expected to soon announce an agreement regarding the same.

As per a media report, TVS Motor Company and BMW Group aim to create an electric vehicle platform that will allow them to manufacture a range of electric two-wheelers including scooters, motorcycles and even concepts.

The alliance of the two giant companies will result in the development, manufacturing and exports of electric two-wheelers from India. It will also help both brands to establish themselves even firmly in the rapidly growing EV segment.

TVS Motor Company and BMW already have a contract that has given the market motorcycles like the G 310 R, G 310 GS, and Apache RR 310. The new agreement will be an extension of this partnership.

BMW to launch CE-02 in a couple of months; First e2W to be made in India with TVS.

TVS Motor has already started the mass production of CE-02 at its factory in Tamil Nadu. The model will be launched in global markets initially and the India launch could happen by the end of 2024.

TVS Motor begins exporting made-in-India BMW CE 02 e-scooter.

TVS Motor Co, which has a longstanding strategic partnership with BMW Motorrad since April 2013, has exported 924 units of the jointly developed BMW CE 02 electric scooter manufactured at TVS’ Hosur plant. TVS has also exported 249 units of its iQube electric scooter to Nepal.
