In between we had videos by vloggers like itchy-boots, getting to ride the bike and sharing sketchy information.
Haha..whole heartedly agree with the view that RE have stretched the sneak peek window for too long. Test mules being spotted for too long, bikes being given to moto journals but embargo on the reviews, Itchy boots already has enough episodes on this bike and every Moto blogger and Journalist is on a Himmie stating street ride, trail ride and what not without any meaningful data or information. As NathanThePostman states in this video below, this time around, Triumph has become RE and RE has become Triumph in the way each company has handled the launch.

Re: 2023 Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 | Now officially revealed

I almost added to KTM adv390 this year, however the SW variant will come and it will come with lower height and what not information was KTM trying to leak / suspiciously dropped specs!
Result : I did not buy one, lost interest in the bike and gave up on my booking. Paid cancellation charges also.

Himalayan 450 ? Following the same pattern and I have come from the wow I want this bike to man do I really need to buy this?

I do not get the folks who book the bike with absolutely no information what so ever. No offence but do you know what it looks like in person? How the colours look like in real life? How comfortable is the bike? What’s the riding triangle? How it rides will not be answered for a long time, initial test rides will be a round circle outside the showroom, you really do not know the bike in a couple of meters ride do you?

Congrats to folks who have put their money down already. Counting on your threads to make an informed decision once the hype dies.

Re: 2023 Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 | Now officially revealed

YouTuber Itchy Boots just released a new video where she tested the Top Speed of the bike and it looks like it maxed out at 141 km/h. I am not quite sure if RE had a play in it that she released the video today.

Note- I don't encourage speeding but just sharing it for the benefit of fellow riders.

If you notice at 7:30, she pushes the rear view mirror back to its position. Now, that's happened with my himalayan because of its vibrations at speeds above 80kmph. Am really hoping RE has/ will address all the issues in the old bike and give us a gem.

And, like she says, I also hope the version offered to public would be with the tubeless version of them wheels! If that happens, am going to buy an RE again

She said that 141km/hr is easy. Not maxed out.

She says "This pre production bike has tubes whereas the bike in production, is going to have tubeless"

I think she's talking the europe market. We will have to wait a bit longer for the tubeless spoke wheels

Noraly also mentioned that there are modes when she was switching off the rear wheel ABS during the trail run. I think she mentioned 'Performance' and 'Eco' mode.

Even in the off-road ride video shared by you-tuber Abhinav Bhatt, the left side mirror comes loose. The same mirror comes loose in another road ride video shared by him. This is usually due to high vibrations on the handlebar, but the rear view mirrors dont blur the image much indicating the vibes are well contained. Could be a case of mirrors not tightened to right torque specs.

The bike looks promising for sure, going by some of the videos shared by skilled off-road riders/trainers like CH-saddler, pushing the bikes limit over all sort of rough terrain. Good thing, we have not heard of anything breaking so far, like chassis or footpegs. Hope it stays that way with minimum niggles.

Abhinav Bhatt got two bikes. One had tubeless rims. So its safe to assume they will be on offer.

It's quite surprising, he hasn't even seen the bike in person, leave aside riding, and he infers it is too heavy, expects it to be costly, would not book one but hopes to buy one someday. Thorough confusion here
But I agree with one thing that he says about expectations : with the OG Himalayan, the expectations were so low that all it could do was impress. With the all new Himalayan, the hype and expectations are already so high, that there is nothing much left to impress or surprise.
Exactly what happened at EICMA.
People expected a lot to happen but felt too little was done on D Day. Actually even RE might be struggling to handle the pressure of event management now.

Sir, if everybody plays safe and waits for detailed reviews and then purchase from the second lot, who will buy the first lot? That way, RE will never sell the first lot at all.
It's not that people (that includes me BTW) who have pre-booked, have money to waste or spare, it's a calculated risk and trust on the brand and the product. What can go wrong at the max? Chassis have stopped snapping quite some time back. And the new bike will be under warranty. And trust me Sir, even if something goes wrong, RE honours warranties much better than many other premium brands.

It didn't max out at 140. She said that it's achievable comfortably. There's another video on YouTube by Twenty3rides which shows the bike doing 145 in 5th gear and yet not redlining upto going upto 151 in 6th gear.
Sharing few screenshots.

It's good to be critical Sir. But I hope you would agree that she's covered almost 3000 kms on the same bike over varied terrain and it's just a loose mirror. And that brings us to a comparison with the old Himalayan. We're being a little too harsh I must say.

You will have to wait Sir. Because as of now, that's not even part of the accessories list. May be offered later after the homologation issues are sorted out by RE.

Re: 2023 Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 | Now officially revealed

One of the city ride review is out .

Some highlights of the video.

1) Very agile and nimble , easy to ride in city.
2) Easiest bike to ride.(lot of emphasis here)
3) Smooth gearshift.
4) Riding modes are switchable on the go.
5) Well sorted ergonomics for all types of riders ( Don't know how he arrived at this conclusion ).
6) Tiger 1200 is the most comfortable bike as per him and Himalayan 450 is on par with Tiger 1200.Very comfortable seats.
7) On board FE shown is 30KMPL.
8) No vibration felt whatsoever.
9) Better offroader than Tiger 1200.
10) Engine is peppy post 2000 rpm.
11) Very good handler.

He also mentioned 3L rupees pricing !!!

I will be really happy about point 1 , 2 and 11 (If it turns out true )

Cheers !

Re: 2023 Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 | Now officially revealed

I think the first few videos will have to be taken with a pinch of salt, as everyone will have very positive feelings towards the bike and RE given that they have just had a nice fully paid for holiday for many days. I’ll prefer to wait a few days until the real reviews come out, thank you.

The reviews by Sagar Sheldekar are generally more reliable as compared to others.
