Amazing! These chaps have a way of communicating that just hits right

The bit about cruise control - I can understand it as an accessory, but as standard, that will make costs go up. Their GMA division has a lot of potential it would seem.

2.6-2.7L is what they're predicting - heck that's sweet if they make it happen! And I feel certain they're going to try and undercut the Adventure X and others by a fair bit.

I thought the engine oil change would be at 7.5k kms as per Bosky's video. Shumi mentions 5k kms. That is to be seen.

  • Potential launch: 2023
  • Brand new K1 platform
  • 40-45 BHP
  • Completely new design with cues from previous Himalayan

I was just going back in time to read from the beginning of this thread and....this definitely aged well
Prateek and Bikewale more or less called out everything that the bike now comes as/with. There was debate about whether RE would even be bold enough to do 40bhp in a 450 - they were and they did! Of course now we're asking for more
And the rendering - I know it looks from the early 1700s, but that is exactly how the rally variant looks, almost to the T lol.
They even called out the tubeless spoke offerings.
Generally RE pricing is a no-brainer. To be seen how they do this one.

Also...

Correction - Ben mentioned 10000kms interval for oil change.

I think top-end will be +20k at least. They will leave the base variants affordable to 411 buyers but the top end will easily be as expensive as the base Interceptor.

A lot of reviewers are citing the fact that they can't price a 450 too close to a 650, but I think RE will take 650+Showa as the baseline for that comparison (i.e. Super Meteor) and not the Conti/Int that have 41mm noodles. The number of 650 owners in my circle who are willing to let go of their current bike for the 450 is proof that displacement isn't the main motivation for desirability and thus can't be the main one for pricing either.

Long term, they will bring Showa to 650 twins and build the price separation from the 450.

Did anyone come across this weird stalling issue? I don't see anyone else talking about it in their reviews.

Hope this is sorted out in the production bikes.

Made my booking today so as to coincide with the auspicious occasion of Deepavali. However, I did not get confirmation and the website is stuck at this. Has anyone else faced this issue? What was the solution offered by RE?

Some folks faced this issue earlier. I would suggest to call the dealer you had selected and confirm if they have received the booking. Otherwise might have to wait a day or two atleast, as one of my friends received confirmation only the next day via whatsapp.

Yes, on the first day of the launch. But keep trying multiple times (Customer Support told me to do that), like even clicking the 'Pay Now' button continuously and it will go through at least on one occassion. I know not the best solution yet one attempt would be worth it. If not, like so many of our friends did, call your nearest RE dealer and they should do the job for you. All the best!

Update : I called the RE Customer support and they confirmed to me that the booking has indeed gone through. I got an email confirmation later; after about 45 mins.

I faced the issue after making payment. However, it is resolved now. Thanks.

Yes, I have posted about this in the thread earlier, few days back. Folks here recommended me to contact RE Customer care. I did and I got my booking ID on next day. Although yet to get a call from Local Dealership.

I have a feeling that this engine check light is something that's an issue plauging lots of new OBD2 E20 BS6 Phase 2 mtorobikes. I have been hearing a lot about this lately.
I think it's probably to do with complex things have become due to newer norms. Perhaps someone can shed some light.

Re: 2023 Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 | Now officially revealed

Does anyone know what the differences are between the low/mid/top versions of the H450 apart from the colour?

In the past, RE offered tripper navigation on the top-versions but not sure what their strategy is here. Maybe offer touring seats/mirrors, sump guard and engine guard etc as standard on the top version?

No accurate information on this as of today. We are all assuming no changes in the variants except the colors. I checked with the SA but he says they will have this information close to the launch in Goa.

Going by their previous launches its just the colours, they cant give a different head unit for the base version.

Based on what I have been watching in videos on YT, 0-60 seems around ~3-3.5s and 0-100 is ~8-9s. Given the nearly square engine, it's balanced charateristics and the weight of ~190Kg (depending upon fuel), these figures are pretty great!

For some reasons I am unable to edit my posts. @Mods - Is this some recent changes to forum ?
Update: I can edit this post, perhaps only editing of very recent posts are allowed.
----------------------

I have captured some screenshots of 0-60-100 launch from a YT Video of Review from MotorBeam.

0-60: 4 sec
0-100: 10-11 sec

Note: This sprint is seemingly done on elevation exceeding ~10,000-12000 ft, where air is thin, so expect around ~30-40% drop in power/torque figures. Also, it's a new unit so after one/two service intervals I expect, it would improve tad bit.
One thing I noticed is that, on my Bajaj Dominar there was initial capping of 7k rpm until you reach 2,000kms on the Odometer. It doesn't seem like RE has applied any cappings as the engine seems to redline all the way till end. Is this the standard RE way of things (?)
