re: 2023 Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 | Now officially revealed

Saw one of the mules belting it inside the city this evening. Couldn't take pictures, but the bike sounded a lot similar to the long-stroke Enfields should. I had a mild fear that liquid cooling and the relatively short-stroke (rumored power figures) would spoil the Enfield aural experience.

Much relieved after hearing it today!

And here is the other street-styled lead model of the 450 family that was spied on test -

re: 2023 Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 | Now officially revealed

Now, here's a welcome rumor! Something that we all have been waiting for, well atleast most of us! Tubeless spoked rims!

I sincerely hope this comes true. Not that I'll book from the first lot, but it sure is a welcome addition. I'd still wait for a couple of batches to be launched and tested on customers before I get my hands on a RE this time

Ride Safe
650 twins are air cooled, where as here, we are talking about liquid cooled 450cc engine . it can be DOHC , high compression engine which may churn out close to 40 bhp. But as you rightly mentioned RE may not crave for more bhp.

Royal Enfield Himalayan 450’s digital instrument console spied

The upcoming Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 LC has been caught testing once again. This time, the spy images reveal the bike’s new instrument console.

The latest spy images suggest that the Himalayan 450 LC will get a fully-digital instrument console unlike other models in Royal Enfield’s line-up. The round display tucks in neatly behind the windscreen and is angled towards the rider.

The Himalayan 450 LC is expected to be based on the K1 platform, equipped with upside-down Kayaba front forks. It will be powered by a 450cc, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine producing around 40 BHP and 40 Nm.

As you may have guessed, Royal Enfield intends to offer a more off-road capable bike in the form of the Himalayan 450. It will compete with the likes of the KTM 390 Adventure and BMW G 310 GS.

my observations basis the latest images :

1. wheels don't seem to be tubeless
2. non adjustable forks
3. looks like a top heavy bike with that tank design

Tubed tyres would be a bummer. Hope we get spoked tubeless wheels since RE is going all out!!

I did speak to a certain person who did test the 450 series platform bikes and he told me that they were tubed spoked wheels. However, he wasn't sure if tubeless options will be offered as an accessory in the future. He didn't give me too much info about the performance and what not and asked me to wait till the launch xD

And riding standing up will mean leaning forward by the height of the handle bar.

Hopefully the launch will happen before the predicted Aug 2023 by Zigwheels

Is it just me or do the alloys look very similar to the KTM mainly because of the front disk brake being on the left-hand side and the very similar spoke pattern?

The spoked wheels test mule spotted in India also has disk brake on the right-hand side. If RE only launches with the alloy wheel then the KTM alloys can be a good option for upgrade.

So, they have integrated the tail lights into the indicators. That's interesting.
