re: 2023 Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 | Now officially revealed

I hope this instrument console comes to the 650cc Royal Enfields.
To be honest, this console must be on every bike of Royal Enfield.

The only way KTM can counter this motorcycle is to get the 390 adventure in the Husqvarna Norden 901 design. The 390 has all variants - tube, tubeless, basic, low seat height, adjustable suspension. Also cheap spares. Only the looks were polarizing for many. If they can fix that along with increasing the drivability at low speeds, it should be a tough competition for the Himalayan 450.
Even better would be start producing adventure version of 450smr probably on the Norden 901 lines in India. Since it's a dream why not wish for KTM making it affordable as well to compete with Himalyan 450.

re: 2023 Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 | Now officially revealed

Found this while sifting through various articles on the Himalayan 450.
If this is to be believed, it won't reach even the garages of the early birds before next year. That means, all those REH fans who are planning to buy a new 450 and set sail for the Himalayas will have to postpone the plan for the next riding season.
The price, if true again, is really attractive

Keeping fingers crossed brother. Going by the fantastic quality control that RE is known for, it would be definitely prone to fogging and readability issues in times to come. Though it's a quantum leap in terms of gadgetry I must say, the quality will still remain a big question mark.
Semi analogues are best for this category of bikes as was seen even on premium adventure bikes like Tiger till the 800s and 850s.
Let's wait and watch.... because that's what lot of people would do with the first batch of any Royal Enfield product.

re: 2023 Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 | Now officially revealed

Happened to see this photograph closely and few things that caught my attention:-
1. Is the frame sturdier than before? Have the people at RE learnt their lessons from the debacle with 411s? The handlebar has broken off from the attachment points but is the frame intact?
2. The front forks would have bent back. Or the chassis given way from the neck? Being a pair of premium Showa upside downs, less likely they would bend easily. Hence, in all probability the culprit is the chassis from the neck area.
3. The wheel would have hit the radiator after a frontal impact and caused it to leak, spewing coolant all around. Not a good sign. Need to install radiator guard as an accessory.
4. The news about spoked tubeless tyres is not correct as the tube of the front tyre is visible. So handling punctures will again remain an issue, especially with the rear wheel.
5. Though this bike is not fitted with saddle stays which will be the case with most of these bikes, the pillion grabrail should have saved the right rear indicator which it didn't.
6. No photos of the exhaust post the accident were available on media. However, seeing the condition of the right rear indicator, it's quite likely that the exhaust would also have bore the brunt. Why can't we have factory fitted crash guards for a bike costing northward of 3 lacs on road? Something akin to the Yezdi adventure.
7. All said and done the extensive testing which is happening with this model is a welcome move from RE. At least the initial customers will not be part of R&D
8. Last but not the least, if someone could throw some light on the condition of the rider post this accident. That's the most important input.
These are just some random thoughts which came to my mind. Others may add their concerns.

Two new colour options rendered by TrippleLines.

Looks cool in combination of white and red IMO

One more video of the test mule.

The exhaust definitely is shorter than the existing one in 411s. So definitely more space to accomodate soft luggage. And less of burnt saddlebags. Good if this exhaust makes it to the production model (which it should in all probability).

By the look of it, definitely not a light bike. Seems will fall in the same ballpark of 200kgs. But at least the power and torque will compensate for it.

2023 Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 | Now officially revealed-screenshot_20230701162202.png

Spotted this in the video posted by CS Santosh, this frame shows a different exhaust compared to other shots, is the video being shot with multiple bikes? Test mules or custom built offroader ?

Great spotting. This is definitely a custom built off-roader. The rumours are already floating in the industry that RE will enter Dakar with this 450 in 2025.Same engine(tuned differently), and same frame, but completely rally built. Seeing CS Santosh playing around with it makes it more believable.

This is one of the reasons why it’s believed that the 450 platform will be free from general recurring RE quality issues. This frame and engine has to compete in Dakar. Too big a task to mess around with.
