Honda has unveiled its 2022 CB500 range of bikes for the global markets. The updated line-up includes the CB500X, CB500F and the CBR500R.



For the 2022 model year, Honda made a couple of changes to the CB500 range. All models now get Showa USD fork suspension and 296 mm dual front disc brakes as standard.



The CBR500R and the CB500F get new Y-spoke aluminium wheels, while the CB500X carries forward the same 19-inch front wheels. The 2022 model range also gets new colour options.

The CB500 range is powered by a 471cc, parallel-twin engine that produces 46 BHP and 43.2 Nm. The engine is paired with a 6-speed gearbox via a slip and assist clutch.



Honda currently offers the CB500X in India at a price of Rs. 5.80 lakh (ex-showroom).

Why is Honda so afraid of the Indian Market?
Is it not confident about it's products? I am sure the "F" and the "R" would be welcome additions to their India Product Portfolio

When I visited the Big Wing showroom to test the CB300R I enquired about the R and F versions of the 500cc bikes and he said Honda isn't launching them anytime soon. Plus considering the price of the CB500x they will probably price them in the same ballpark as the 650cc twins of Kawasaki which will make them a very hard sell given the pretty substantial disparity in performance between the 500cc and 650cc engines.

Youtuber Dino's Vault just released a walkaround review of the CB500F and has implied it's India launch(and also of the CBR500R soon™). It could be click-bait, as I couldn't find anything on the Bigwing india site for CB500F, the youtuber is currently in Malaysia for his MotoGP vlogs. Malaysian Honda Superbike dealers style themselves as Honda BigBike rather than the Indian BigWing, also the end of the video contains the contact number for Bigwing Hyderabad. While this isn't typical Honda BigWing style for launching new products, the CB500X also was just as sudden.
